The retrieval of a third body from the red lake in Mitsero earlier in the week justified the seventh remand of self-confessed serial-killer Nicos Metaxas for a further eight days on Thursday.

Remains of girl, 6, found in lake 'victim of Cyprus serial killer'

The remains found in Cyprus on Wednesday are believed to be those of 6-year-old, Sierra Grace.

Fire Department Chief Marcos Trangolas said the remains, which were wrapped in a bed sheet and tied by rope to a cement block, were found among reeds six metres under the surface of the lake that was part of a former copper pyrite mine.

He said divers had searched the exact spot where the 35-year-old suspect pointed to investigators earlier on Wednesday while on site.
 
Last remand order for serial murder suspect - Cyprus Mail

The Nicosia district court on Friday issued a fresh eight-day remand for self-confessed serial killer Nicos Metaxas, allowing police to finally wrap up their investigation before the 35-year-old is charged.

He is expected to be charged next Saturday with the crimes of murders, kidnapping, abduction, rape, indecent assault, attempting to destroy evidence and obstruction of justice among others.
 
Nikos Metaxas, 35, pleaded guilty to 12 charges relating to the premeditated murder and abduction of the seven people – who came from the Philippines, Romania and Nepal – between September 2016 and July 2018. The two children, aged six and eight, were daughters of two of the women.
The sentence, passed on Monday, is the toughest ever imposed by the Cypriot justice system.

Metaxas cried as police read the indictment against him.

“I have committed abhorrent crimes,” he said, expressing condolences to the families of the victims.
