Darlie Routier on Death Row

I agree that Darlie has managed to delay the inevitable for many years now, and has every intention of dragging this out as long as possible.

The Courts are tired of her though. The recent Order basically says "put up or shut up" - they want status reports every 180 days. Her time is coming to an end.

When the new testing is complete and does nothing to exonerate her, the courts will rid the world of Darlie Routier.

I Love Texas!

Well, as a Texan myself, and one who loves Texas, I have to say I pray to God they don't execute her.

I am sickened, and heartbroken, by how many innocent people have spent the bulk of their lives in prison in the last 50 years in Texas, only to be found factually innocent and the courts to be found culpable of purposely hiding evidence that would prove them innocent. It's incredibly embarrassing the way the State of Texas has imprisoned innocent people for 20+ years, only to then be forced kicking and screaming to admit they've been wrongly imprisoned. I'm sure there are those who have been executed wrongly.

There are enough questions of fact in the Routier case to reexamine it through another trial.

Sorry, I'm just sick of being embarrassed by one of the few embarrassing things about my home state.

Texas is no better or worse than any other states when it comes to misconduct. Perhaps you just hear about it more because you're in Texas. I've lived all over the country, including Texas, and it really is no different...except in red states. For some reason  the media in red states report on recent and ancient misconduct ad nauseum.

Who do you think has been wrongfully executed?

I don't agree. I don't think there is anything substantive that is in question in this case. What, exactly, do you think is still questionable?

There are no legitimate questions in this case. Just the Family BS constantly pushed and a bunch of newbies to the case.

She has tried just about everything imaginable over the years and so far managed to delay the execution with all the ridiculous claims and appeals. However, I believe the courts are at the end now and her day will come. Not soon enough for me, but soon enough.

Wasn't on DR, but God bless the innocence project!

http://abcnews.go.com/US/michael-morton-free-25-years-prison-exonerated-wifes/story?id=14663445

After serving nearly 25 years in prison for the murder of his wife, Michael Morton was freed this afternoon in Texas, exonerated by DNA evidence that connected another man to his wife's bludgeoning.

The former grocery store employee, who is now 57, was released Tuesday afternoon when he appeared before the 26th Judicial Court of Williamston County Texas.

Why do you think that? The brutal murder of her own two babies should certainly put her at the front of the line, IMO.

I would think that sooner or later the State of Texas will tire of her ridiculous appeals.

If she were in a lot of other States, I would agree with you, but I am not so sure about Texas.

Because Darlie has a huge "fan base" and she is cute. ( or used to be)
I am not a death penalty proponent because of stuff like this. Suzanne Basso was a despicable human being. I have a mentally challenged son and I'd want to kill anyone who hurt him with my bare hands, but I'm sure I could restrain myself as long as they lived a miserable existence in prison. But Suzanne wasn't pretty and no one cared much about her because she wasn't very charming.

There's no other reason why Darlie is still alive and Suzanne dead than that.

Death Row Stories will feature Darlie's case, Sunday, July 12, 2015. CNN

I would say they know.. The Herzog show here in Australia showed more than the American version.. I'm guessing people would be outraged if they knew DR inmates got to watch TV.. which is what Darlie said

Next week on CNN - a new series of death row stories. Darlie Routier will be featured this Sunday. http://www.cnn.com/shows/death-row-stories
I feel I should let you know this will probably be a somewhat liberal view of the crime and possibly sympathetic to Darlie.

No doubt it will be sympathetic to Darlie, since her poor son is going to be on expressing his belief in her innocence. I'm sure we'll hear all the usual red herrings that have nothing to do with the real evidence - the carotid artery near-miss, the influence of the silly string video, the (non-existent) mystery bloody fingerprint, etc. etc. I guess they expect to stir up another round of donations from those who can't believe a mother would do this.

I am unable to watch this as Im in Australia (hopefully it's posted online somewhere soon) but I'm guessing it's more in her favour as the comments on fb are all sympathetic towards darlie. I don't understand how so many people can think she's innocent. Even one piece of evidence, the bread knife with the screen fibres on it alone is enough to convict her in my opinion and this is only one piece!

I was also quite shocked at how much she has aged. Even since the last show 3 years ago

Watching now. Drake breaks my heart. Not sure anything changed my mind however.

I think the interviews with Darlie Kee were older ones. There was a picture of her in the Dallas paper a few months ago and she looks different now. In fact, I think several of those interviews were old. Drake's was current. Too bad he had to be dragged into this.

Watching Drake's interview just broke my heart. Such a nice, handsome, well spoken young man, with so much heartache in his life. And then chemo treatments on top of all of it. Both of his parents are possibly implicated, mom possibly on death row and innocent OR she is GUILTY and she killed his brothers. Either way it is devastating for him to ponder. I feel so badly about his situation. It must feel hopeless at times.

As for Darcy's guilt or innocence---I am confused. Usually I am convinced of her guilt, then some things seem questionable and I wonder....:sigh:

It was disgraceful, full of lies from the opening gambit by Susan Sarandon that the necklace was so embedded in her neck it had to be surgically removed to Cooper's claiming Darin got an insurance payout on the Jag he set up to be stolen. The Jag that was in the shop for repairs the day of the murders. It was nothing more than throwing Darin under the bus. And at the very end Darlie finished with her lies that she has told the truth and there will be innocent blood on the hands of the state. She's at peace, really!!! I wouldn't be at peace if some man murdered my children, I would have screaming into that camera and asking people to help me find this man.

I noticed she has put a lot of weight on since we last saw her. Darlie Kee still won't accept anything but her daughter being innocent. I don't think it actually brought forward any new information at all. We all know that the evidence proves Darlie killed Devon and Damon. They played up the "court recorder" piece too. That was all hyperbole.

Drake has been brought up to believe his mother is innocent. He won't change his mind on that. I would love to have a show where several different LE officers/experts took a good look at the scene and spoke about why Darlie IS guilty, rather than always trying to cast a doubt on the case.
