Scratches confirmed as fingernail scratches, not caterpillar bites. Another sleuthing point cleared up for committal purposes IMO.

Caterpillar :floorlaugh: sorry, it still makes me laugh :)

Not confirmed, just one expert witness statement. Don't mean to be picky, just wanted to clarify. But it's looking good. I wonder if the other doctors will be called to the stand in this hearing (the ones who GBC visited)?

Two deep scratches on his jaw. Lighter scratches on his neck on the opposite side. All from fingernails, doc believes.#katekyriacou

I wasn't being mean to Mrs. White. I was laughing at the stupid sarcasm of the reporter. :twocents: I feel truly sorry for all of the witnesses and I also admire them for being there. :twocents:

I feel for them too and dont think the media should be taking pics of them.

Leslie Griffiths isn't a GP that GBC went to - he's the expert who worked off the photos.

Oops! Should have made that clearer in my comment. I just want to hear what the GPs have to say, as they saw those injuries first hand too.

2:53pm AEST: THE court has been shown 14 photographs showing a series of deep scratches on Gerard Baden-Clay's face, chest and shoulder.

The dramatic photographs presented at today's committal hearing have been shown during the cross examination of Dr Leslie Griffiths, a medical forensic officer employed by Queensland Health, who examined Baden-Clay on April 22, 2012 and again on June 14, 2012.

The photographs show two deep scratches on the real estate agent's face, a large red welt-like scratch on his shoulder and a series of red scratches on his chest, near the collar bone.

Dr Griffiths was asked to examine Baden-Clay a second time to shave part of his beard and examine again the marks in his face.

"I was asked by police to remove a portion of the defendant's beard and examine the injuries on the jaw line," the doctor said.

"They (the scratches) were clearly visible.

"But they had faded considerably by that stage.

"It was almost two months later."

Another question mark settled - why the police got a warrant to shave off part of his beard.

My mistake Strangeworld - I think Leslie Griffiths was the specialist who checked GBC under the directive of QPS - the appointment GBC tried to duck by hitting the concrete post. That was after the GP run around.

The specialist who translated from the photos was Associate Professor Wells. Sorry for any confusion.

No, my fault! I think you are right. Very valuable testimony IMO. Be interesting to see if the defense managed to get any medical doctor to discount this assessment, or suggest another possibility? Would be a stretch.

Maybe he went home, realised her phone wasn't there and that it must have been still with her (in a pocket or similar), hence the frantic trip back?

Or maybe, following on from a suggestion a thread or two ago, the fight began at home, ABC jumped in her car, GBC went after her, he killed her (accidentally or otherwise) at or near Kholo Creek, went back to check on the kids who are, after all, home on their own, called his father, arranged to pick him up at the roundabout so that NBC could drive ABC's car back from the creek to home and then he dropped Nigel back to Kenmore?

Phone in the pocket is a good theory. I wonder if an accompalice will come out in this committal? Baden Clays all have questions to answer. IMO

Thinking back to the footage of the granny pash where she is clearly feeling around his chest for something - could she be feeling for the missing phone?

I suggested the "phone in the pocket" idea a few days ago - and was promptly corrected (and rightly so) as Allison's clothes had no pockets.

Thanks so much for being there and reporting back to us. It's very much appreciated.

Thanks Makara and all my sleuthing friends! I knew you would be getting all the updates so thought I'd report the little things I would want to know if I wasn't there eg GBC's demeanour etc. The support in this forum is very special and a wonderful tribute to Allison, I think.

Oh I wish I was there now for the drs!!!

Oh and re the glasses, he only wore them when he was reading stuff. Apart from that he didn't wear them.

Probably trying to find his heart lol.

The court is being shown a large red area of scratch marks and bruising on Baden-Clay's upper chest. #katekyriacou
