Missing Woodrow Wilson teacher: Ian Solheim last seen July 25 | wusa9.com

From the posted article:
“He called his mother who was here in D.C. on Wednesday morning and said that he was in crisis,” Mark Solheim recalled. However, Ian was gone by the time his mother got to where he was to check on him. D.C. Police said Ian was last seen on July 25 and reported missing three days later.

He is described as about 6 feet 3 inches tall and 165 pounds, with hazel eyes and light brown hair. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and shorts. Police say he may be in need of medication.

Anyone who sees Solheim or may know where he is is asked to call the Metropolitan Police
Department at 202-727-9099 or text the department's tip line at 50411.

I’m a little confused on the timeline of events & some of the details.
According to the article:
•Ian called his mother on Wednesday morning, telling her he was in a crisis. By the time his mother got to where he was supposed to be to check on him, Ian was gone.
>What date did the occur? Wed., July ___
•Ian was last seen on July 25.
>Who was the last person to see him then?
>Did his mom (or any family) have contact with him any during the time he called her until he went missing?
•Ian was last seen near Lincoln Park on East Capitol Street in Southeast.
>Is this location his home, near his home, or have significance?
•Ian was reported missing July 28.
>No Judgement at all...but curious to the reason for waiting 3 days to file a report?

I’m curious about this as well. I’ve been reading on fb and trying to find more information about the timeline but I’ve come up empty handed.

We don't know how common it is for him to have periods of MH crisis in fairness. If this was the 1st time you'd think alarm bells would ring, but often it's no where near the 1st.

Could also potentially be fear that a severe mental health episode on record might have some impact on his career?

K.L.'s reply to DCPD's tweet is very interesting, imo. I've not found any updates about Ian. I hope he is okay. MOO

Are there any organized searches or official Facebook pages? I hope he is just taking some time away before the school year starts. JMO.
I found a very organized spreadsheet online of volunteer searchers. I can’t link to it but it seems there are many people who are looking for Ian. I’m hoping they find him soon.

I asked the same thing in a previous post (I too don’t know much about Instagram).
@infinit replied, sharing that it means it was posted on 7/28...so after the ‘last seen’ date.

Thanks! Sorry somehow I missed that. ;) I noticed in that 7/28 picture that his clothing is different than the white shirt mentioned in the original missing info and it looks (to me) like he's also wearing a backpack.

Also his "get used to it" comment confuses me, unless he's making a pointed jab to one certain person, because he seems much loved and supported by his circle. I wonder if he ran into some bullying and it shook him up.

Ian is an ESL teacher at a DC high school...

School hasn’t started back yet in DC has it?
I know it’s different for each state. My kids start back tomorrow, but I believe DC has a later start date..,
