Somehow I don't think it's the body of KW that's been found, it's not easy to dismember a body, especially on board a submarine and most likely without tools.

I do hope you are not speaking from experience ..... :ohwow:

I was thinking that too but it was a good sized sub according to Wikipedia.

58.3 feet long with beam of 6 feet 7 inch.

No torpedo launch according to the page so he wasn't able to eject her that way, which was my initial thought for dismemberment.

The torso of a woman have been found at Amager, the head, arms and legs are missing. There will be an autopsy to identify the body.

I think it is very possible for Madsen to dismember her in the sub. He built the sub and probably has a lot of tools on board. Then he sinks the sub and fills it with water to conceal and wash away the blood.

I doubt it is Walls body for another reason. The police said that the body found had been in the water for some time. My interpretation of that is that it could be some other persons body.

I hope the police will be able to tell us more soon.

Was Madsen the only crew member on the sub when the alleged accident took place?

There is no mention of anyone else being onboard so I would say he was the only one on board.

I've just realised I've been aware of Madsen for many years. I used to follow the activities of The Copenhagen Suborbitals who are a group of amateur rocket builders. I became aware of them as I was on a forum that one of their members also posted on. I even liked them on Facebook as I thought they were so cool. Madsen left the collective in 2014 but they're still going.
They seem like such a nice bunch so this must be shocking to them.

"The current situation is that there is a torso in which arms, legs and head have been removed off as a result of deliberate cutting," said Jens Moller Jensen of the Copenhagen police.

"There is nothing about the length of the torso to indicate that it is not Kim Wall, but we do not yet know."

The body has been sent for DNA analysis, but the results will not be available until Thursday morning.

reading in between the lines I think the Danish police are saying the torso is same size as hers would roughly be. So it's very likely to be her isn't it?

This all sounds so crazy. I hope there are answers soon. Poor woman.

I hope the body still has some clues for the coroner such as defence wounds, neck compression etc. that dispute the accidental death tale.

I really view this case as a sexual come on that turned into a murder. It must have been so terrifying being trapped on a submarine with no escape.

"There is no evidence at all that this has something to do with my client. And so, of course, the two things must not be chained together. The police has done so and that is not okay. I will contact them."

That says Bettina Hald Engmark to Jyllands Posten. She is the defense counsel of Peter Madsen and believes that both the public and the police have been too quick in making the findings of the torso part of the case against her client.

I agree. An early NYT articles states he's a person with "high ambitions and low social skills" and argues with everyone. I think it's very dangerous for a beautiful young woman to be alone with a man like that, her apparent interest in him would inflate his ego, her rejection of him sexually would probably provoke blind rage.

I'm interested in who initiated contact...

Did KW reach out with interest in reporting on him?

Or did PM reach out, asking for an article and offering an interview / tour of sub?

I feel so sick thinking of what happened to her. How terrifying it would have been with this creep

It seems as it was KW who initiated the contact, the police have gone through their mail correspondence, and according to them KW wanted to do a portrait of him.

I really didn't expect that. Wow. In a submarine? I'm fairly certain this is something we haven't seen before. :dunno:
