Ashes, ashes, we all fall down
I thought he meant that Caylee was excitable, like she was feisty just like his wife and daughter.
I hope so.
I thought he meant that Caylee was excitable, like she was feisty just like his wife and daughter.
Actually, immediately after Christine says, "If anything happens to that little girl, I'll die, I'll just die", Casey callously responds with, "Oh well".Responding to her friend's cry, 'If anything happens to that little girl I'll die, I'll just die.' with "Calling you was a waste, a huge waste."
I've heard that many times in three years but it still cuts like a knife. We can only hope it puts her away forever.
I have seen and heard the tapes many many times over the last few years. But this was the first time I got to see them with the defense theory in mind AND seeing Casey's face. When I watched them this week I knew she was sunk for sure. She comes off as a lying, cold-hearted b*tch who obviously does not care one bit about her daughter and George comes across as a loving and caring father and grandfather.
I have seen all of those jail visit videos, and heard all of the 911 calls, and the first phone call home, so many times since they were released, that I admit I have a hard time viewing them objectively, at this point.
I certainly don't think there is anything in any of them that would support the defense team claim that George intimidated Casey into covering up Caylee's death, or that George was anything but a wonderful grandfather to Caylee, and a father that did the best he could with a daughter like Casey.
I think the videos, etc. really spotlight Casey's narcissism, emotional cruelty, and at times rage towards her friends and family.
The most powerful thing about the videos now, is that the jurors will be viewing them in the context that while Casey was sitting in jail, reassuring her family that Caylee would be coming home soon, and that they should/ shouldn't trust this person or that person, Casey, by her own defense team's admission, definitely knew Caylee was dead.

They destroy the DT's opening argument and force them to prove their contentions, something JB did not plan to do or wish to attempt. IMO this is why he sought the late expert testimony -- he had expected (for reasons difficult to fathom) that the tapes would either be excluded or severely edited so as to limit the damage to his client.
I know what you mean! But how could he "expect" the tapes to be excluded or redacted if he did not file motions requesting that to be done? It just makes no sense. Judge Belvin Perry made it abundantly clear that the DT sat on their hands about those jailhouse tapes. It boggles the mind that they did not attempt (in a timely manner and doing it during trial isn't timely) to have those tapes edited.
