This is one of the nasty replies I got back from Wood when I made them aware of all the JonBenet *advertiser censored* sites on the internet.

This is the only reply you will receive from me. As you are well aware, Retired Detective Smit said "JonBenet is a pedophile's dream." This, I think, everyone agrees with. As horrid as it is they should know deviants would take advantage of JonBenet -- even in her death.

A letter from you to those websites would put a stop to the defamation. Even though I'm sure those sites don't have photos of the real JonBenet, to use her name in this horrid manner is beyond words.

Perhaps I handled this wrong by putting it on the boards first before notifying you. My goal is to remove her name from pornographic websites. I let my personal opinions get in the way of getting a job accomplished which I think needs to be done. For that I apologize.

The original email that I sent Wood was the post that I posted on most of the forums regarding the JBR *advertiser censored* sites. (I'll have to go find it again.) I don't think I saved the original email I sent unfortunately. I found the sites, obviously, in poor taste and if anyone could get them closed down, Wood could. I'm sure none of the photos (I didn't go looking into the sites) were of JBR in reality -- morphed images I would guess.

Candy I know of one high profile dad of a murder victim who did do something. Not only is his daughter not on any of these sites but even a very nice dedication to his daughter was removed from an Internet site. Why? Because the person who put the dedication up is an admitted pedophile. This dad went into action when he found out about his daughter's name being used thank to Misty. Misty found this guy and the dad was alerted to this perverts page on his daughter.

There are several ways you can attempt to, and can be successful at, shutting these sites down that have the name of a minor daughter on them.

It's the fact that Wood didn't even try. Sometimes just a firm letter does the trick.

No Wood is too busy suing and making money off the death of JBR.

LP, I'm sure my email contained this entire post, which I posted at alot of the forums. As far as doing something about it, I'm sure a letter from Wood to those sites would have helped the situation. I know I worked very hard to get that ped JBR chat room closed down and with the help of lots of people, it finally did happen...so saying it's can't be done is not in my vocabulary.

If you do an internet search for JonBenet Ramsey, you get approximately 20,000 hits. Some are memorials; some are crime theories or news articles; some are *advertiser censored* sites --
even sites that advertise nude photos of "JonBenet Ramsey.”

Back in September 2000 I organized an AOL chatroom vigil to bring awareness to a chatroom that I know was infested with pedophiles – the JBR Chat room. I distributed a flyer and stated the reasons why her name is used.

Pedophiles use JBR's name for their room because:

(1) The commercial value of JBR's name attracts unsuspecting people for the pedophiles to prey on.

(2) The name is beyond anything that would be excluded by software to protect kids from going where they should not be. If controls are not set properly via AOL, any child can freely enter this room and many do.

(3) Any actual talk about JBR is fodder for the pedophiles to pick up on, break the ice, and begin talking about JBR -- children. This is not in the context of case discussion, however. This is in a purely self-fulling sexual context.

This room is not just a place for pedophiles to talk among themselves or trade pictures. This room is a trap that is set to lure prey.

It took some time, but eventually AOL coded the room name as a name that could not be created in member rooms. Victory!

Now some three years later as I search for JonBenet-related articles, I find the same disgraceful and sick activities in a slightly different form – JBR *advertiser censored* sites. I’m not going to give these deviants any publicity by pasting the urls. It’s pretty obvious from the summary of the sites on the search screen what the site has. JonBenet is still a victim; still being abused by the fact that these sites are allowed to continue and to strive.

It seems to me that Mr. & Mrs. Ramsey, along with Mr. Wood, could find more solace in suing the websites that use JonBenet's name to solicit *advertiser censored* rather than sue anyone that dares to utter the opinion that Mr. and/or Mrs. Ramsey are involved in JonBenet's death.

Misty the Ramseys wouldn't even have to sue. A stongly worded letter to the server might just do it.

I know I keep harping on this but it's true.

Do something. Don't just shrug your shoulders. Yes something can be done. Other parents of murdered children have done something about this exact problem.

I haven't visited that one for a while, but I was appalled when I saw his photo gallery of children -- as I recall some 500 random shots of kids all taken in public areas (just regular photos), but I thought to myself -- my God, do the parents of these children known their kid's pictures are on that website?

Misty you deserve a lot of credit. You brought that disgusting website to the attention of people who care and now it's been handled. It might even be down. I know of someone who was going to try and get it taken down.

Oh, I agree, LP, and if you saw my reply to him, I probably handled it wrong at the onset. I let my own personal feelings for Wood and the Ramseys get in the way of accomplishing something that I felt was worthy of attention and for that I did apologize.
