Has anyone ever heard of an accident where one person lands in the road before the car goes off a cliff with another person?
I pulled up a google map and found an area on the DR 3 highway Southeast of the Marbella toll booth that looks like it could be the "Blender" that sits right off a slight curve of the highway. I am not sure how to get a screenshot of the area though. It is a small alcove of water that looks very rough on the google map image. It is just adjacent to the Quality Hotel Real Aeropuerto Santo.

I think that speaks to the lack of a proactive police force, as well as in the hospital administration. Also, jmo, but everyone may have assumed they were locals rather than tourists, because they were black.I would think a Jane Doe without ID would be an immediate connection to LE and media in an attempt to identify as well as an effort to match up with anyone reported missing. Especially one in serious condition who may die. They also would have known where she was found, a highway not far from the airport...
I don't know, to me, if an accident, she would have been in the car with him if rushing to the airport and it was an accident, not on the roadway.
With what we know thus far anyhow.
In this photo of the car at the toll booth, although not good quality, it appears that it was Orlando sitting in the passenger seat and Portia was driving? If you zoom in, it looks like a mans body frame on the passenger side of the vehicle.

It's just odd to me that the car ends up in the water after coming off the I-7. They had just stopped for a toll. From the satellite view, it appears that the I-7 dumps off into a side road (Marginal Ave de las Americas) and not the main highway which is closer to the ocean. If this is the case, how do they end up on the main highway?
The only explanations I can think of are that they accelerated at high speed because they were running late to make their flight and lost control, OR someone pulled up along side of them, distracted or tried to to rob them, they sped up and they lost control.
What do others think?
The grim reaper, I'm afraid. Is it just me or does it look like there’s someone also sitting in the back seat with the window down? I played with the color on my phone... thoughts?
This really sticks out to me. It seems that hospitals would have been the first place to check for missing people and surely the local news had some information regarding the missing couple. Something just doesn't feel right about this entire case.I don't know, but what I'm wondering is if there is a missing person case, wouldn't hospitals be contacted to see if there are any Jane or John Does?
I feel terrible for the family searching for the couple and one of them was in the hospital for days. How was that missed?

When I request the route from GMaps, it transfers through an underpass from the Marginal road onto the Autopista shortly after turning East.

I think various thing are possible, including the driver being distracted by checking GMaps or arguing with their partner or suddenly spooked by something they saw, hitting something on the road or a pole, something going wrong with the car, over-correcting after veering the other way, darkness and a lack of reflectors so that the driver simply drove off the edge of the highway.
Personally, I think it being a freeway makes an encounter with bad guys much less likely, it wasn't a deserted country road.
