Dr Phil, Cindy Anthony and George Anthony.

Dr Phil has obvious motives of self promotion. The Anthonys' interview gave him the high ratings he was hoping for with his opening season's program. He's claiming he hasn't compensated for the interview but has "donated" a sum of money (that is so high that the amount is being kept secret) to a questionable foundation established by the Anthonys. His "donation" is likely to lead some viewers to believe that this foundation is one worth their donations, too.

Cindy Anthony continues with her song and dance. Her lies are like gristle; the more they're chewed ~ the bigger they get. She has managed now to insult thousands who suffer with legitimate diseases and has even invented one of her own. Referring to Caylee's insect and animal eaten and strewn body as only a shell was a selfish rationalization that shocked many.

George Anthony continues to roll with the tide. It appears he can't quite make up his mind whether he wants to stand on his own beliefs or swim with the current. I have seen him play so many roles (from "Hi Beautiful, you're the CEO" to enraged father and from "I know that smell" to "I never knew garbage could smell that bad") that I just don't trust him and his overly dramatic posturing. George is not the proverbial empty suit but he may just be an empty pair of flip-flops. The fact that he's not as bad as Cindy does not impress me one single bit. That's no standard worth rating, imo.

With these three standing around the witch's cauldron it will be interesting to see the after effects of the brew they're stirring up.

Double, double toil and trouble . . .

My moms side of the family are staunch southern baptists. Many times at funerals over the years I have heard religious leaders (pastors/ ministers) say "That's only the shell, their soul is in Heaven". Maybe that's where Cindy got that from.

Regardless, it was a strange thing to say about her own granddaughter, slayed by her daughter. Almost with a la-de-da attitude.
And IMO disrespectful to Caylee, what happened to Caylee, and Caylee's memory.

I don't like Cindy one bit and the fact that she's a nurse makes it even worse. She doesn't talk like a nurse, doesn't even display the intelligence of a nurse. I think SHE is mentally ill, as well as Casey.

Ex-cops feel that even though they have left the police department that they are still card carrying members of the "Brotherhood of Police Officers". They know that once they identify themselves as former LE that the reception they will receive in an encounter with an officer is going to be somewhat different than a normal citizen. They expect it, feel it's due to them as part of their servicce to the community. Nothing wrong with it because most people recognize other's in their own professional fields.

Problem with GA was that he felt betrayed when all the tapes were released by LE. He knows it was their duty to do so as part of an investigation but regardless took it personally. If he were to walk into Yuri's office tomorrow Yuri would treat him no differently than he has in the past with total respect and GA knows that.

Now add to this mix CA who he has to live with 24/7. She is relentless in her quest. I imagine she could beat you down to seeing things her way and would keep doing so until you accepted what she was saying as the truth.

If CA and GA had separated we would have heard an entirely different story from GA all along and JB would have never been able to set him up for court. What happen was JB worked on CA and she was walked right into this new theory on how to save KC from DP. I doubt GA was even aware what was happening and it's possible CA was not aware either.

If GA had maintained that connection with LE he would have known it was coming way before it happened and done some damage control. The two great loves of his life, were CA and LE work, and he chose the wrong partner to listen to. Sometimes the person we depend upon the most to support us can destroy us. Happens everyday. jmo

Regarding George's "Brotherhood of Police Officers" status, he's the one that first blew off what this connection could have done for justice in this case.

If you are an ex police officer and had not seen your daughter or your granddaughter for several days, and then you receive a notice that her car was towed several days earlier, and when you go to retrieve the car, as the tow truck operator is walking you to the where it is impounded, you smell what you are 100% sure is the smell of a decomposing body, do you:

A. Retrieve the car and head to work like nothing happened.; or

B. Immediately call your daughter and if you can't reach her, call everyone on the planet, PARTICULARLY your "Brotherhood", until you do to make sure both she or your granddaughter are all right?

It is my opinion that had George Anthony done what he KNEW was the right thing and not moved or touched that car until LE arrived, true justice would have been much more straightforward in this case.

Someone ignorant of the smell of death without any law enforcement background could possibly be excused for driving the car home for his wife to scrub and thereby destroy evidence, but an ex detective? Bullchit!

I don't give a crap about his blubbering on the witness stand. I don't give a crap about his paid performance on television shows. George Anthony knew the right thing to do the day he picked that car up and purposefully failed to do it.

Actions speak louder than words, and any words he may have for the "Doctor" Phils of this world can NEVER drown out the volume of what he did.

I go to a Baptist church. I have never heard my Pastor say anything disrespectful about the deceased. He has always been comforting to those who have been left behind.
Caylee needed a proper burial as soon as her remains were released to the A's. For them to wait so long is thoroughly disgusting to me. What was the reason behind that, I wonder.? One would think out of love and respect, you take Caylees so called shell and lay it to rest immediately even though her soul was in Heaven.

Now, if the Anthonys were to start up a foundation that becomes a support and resource for parents who have adult children like Casey (and there are plenty of them out there), then they'd have a better chance. I don't mean this with any of the snark or sarcasm that is generally aimed at them. But that's where their experience points. They certainly know what it's like to raise a daughter who thought it was her parents' job to provide for her even in adulthood and bail her out of all of her everyday difficulties, and they let her control them by doing everything she wanted over and over and over. Of course, it's Cindy more than anyone who needs the resources and help of such a foundation, but that's beside the point. There's no reason why someone who starts such an organization can't need its resources herself. At least with that kind of a purpose, people can identify its founders with its work. With their 'grandparents' rights' foundation, no one can.

MissJames, I think you're seeing something in my post that just wasn't there. When I said that I meant what I said without snark or sarcasm, I was making it clear that I sincerely meant what I was going to say and that I wasn't just being sarcastic about the Anthonys when stating my view of their foundation (which I think will fail) and what I think would be a better approach. I didn't say anything about what someone else says.

BBM

I'm sorry if I misunderstood. My apologies :rose:

I thought when you said "the snark or criticism that is generally directed at them" you were referring to other posters opinions or comments. Everyone's opinions are valid ,just as your sincere crticism of the A's.
Like e-mail,it's hard to determine the tone with which a comment is delivered.

I doubt it. If Dr Phil does end up donating to the foundation (and that's a big 'if' as far as I'm concerned, going by how he phrased it at the start of the 1st interview), it's going to be a flat donation so that he controls the amount.

What makes you think that?

:clap::clap::clap:
I find George extremely slick, clever and calculating, more like a sociopath. CA is a control freak but not a sociopath. She is like a sad sack in her make believe alternate universe. No doubt she still misses Caylee and KC. George is pretty well over all that tear jerking nonsense, George is much more important. Time to put a bigger diamond stud in his ear lobe. The world is his oyster now.
I think the DP show, refuse to call it an interview since it was obviously staged and edited, makes that much more clearer now. George is the better liar of the two. Much more convincing and cunning.
JMO.

I don't agree with that at all. One can see who is in pain and torment and who is not and it certainly isn't Cindy who seems totally healthy and rested without a care in the world.:innocent: Imo, this has nothing to do with missing Caylee......she is right where she has always been making excuses for her chosen child and pushing Caylee aside.

I don't think there is any evidence that the show was staged. We have seen those real daggers Cindy has coming out of her eyes before in her hissy fits and if looks could kill George would be dead for daring to contradict her on many things. There is no way Cindy Anthony would ever ever allow or agree to let her doormat go up against anything she said. He is only to be a yes man and that is it.

It's a very common belief that I share. I think what we find appalling is that Cindy is using that belief to explain away Casey's complete lack of caring about Caylee by throwing her away in the woods like trash.Cindy knows that shows Casey's state of mind .

Anyone who's lost a child knows,we have a very hard time detaching from the body or the" empty shell " after they have passed.
Boots-OK described the way her baby grandaughter's body was loving tended to by her mother.
I had a very hard time leaving my son's body at the hospital and completely freaked and became hysterical when my husband and daughter started to close the casket at the wake. I knew in my head my son was no longer in that body ,but in my heart I couldn't let go,still had to see, him, take care of him. I still want him back so bad .
So the fact that Cindy said Caylee's body was a shell isn't really the issues,IMO. It's covering for Casey yet again.

I agree with you. George has a laundry list of his own dysfunctions, but I only see one sociopath in that duo. He is nowhere as cunning and sly as she is. She is the mastermind and he is her loyal bumbling sidekick.

Nothing weak about Georgie IMO. Frankly, I even think that he has a violent temper that he controls pretty good.. He is a free loader period and will use any avenue to get easy money. Even stupid ones like gambling or Nigerian scams because his greed will take over his common sense . He has found his niche now and will hang around CA until he will not financial benefit from it anymore. If he thought , he can do financially better solo, he will leave her in a New York minute.

I'm most certainly not proud of it but I have had a pretty violent temper myself in the past. It is common for an abused person. We don't know George's past but we certainly see his current hell. If violence really is the case and George has acknowledged as much and learned to control that, I have got to give him props. We're human beings, we're all weak. It is if we choose to pick ourselves up and the decisions we make after we acknowledge the mistakes as well as what we live through that forms who we are and who we will one day become. We live and we learn. (at least that is supposed to be the point, I think...)

I take offense to the "stupid" gambling and Nigerian statement meaning that he is greedy and a free loader. Gambling is a serious addiction for some people. My husband actually played internet poker for a living rather successfully for about 7 years until the government recently seized the site from Americans because of their greed in not being able to tax it over seas. It was not an easy way to make money by any means he was at it from the time he opened his eyes in the morning until he closed them at night playing multiple tables at a time. And having been scammed is unfortunate not condemnable, in my opinion. Again, many people (they especially like to prey on the older ones) have fallen victim to this scam.

There are many people out there who would take "easy money" if the opportunity presented itself. Again, having done so myself a time or two an instance that comes to mind off hand was when my husband and I helped his uncle out at a carnival on the weekend years back making $100.+ a piece for a few hours, one of us standing there at the top of a slide putting kids on burlap sacks and one at the bottom taking tickets and handing out the sacks. :rocker:

George has said having gone through this and watching what Casey's silence and lies have done to Cindy has caused him to open up more as far as their relationship behind closed doors. He also said he didn't want to watch his wife be hurt by Casey's actions in the years leading up to the events of June 16th because of how much he had hurt her when the fate of their marriage was up in the air. We have witnessed him try to protect his wife's unstable emotions. We have seen him cry real tears for Caylee Marie. These are not the actions of a sociopath, rather quite opposite of a man who loves his wife and family and is trying to hold what he can together.

I had to quit trying to understand the Anthony's .Every time I think one way, they go and do something to prove me wrong .I've been all over the map trying to figure them out ,especially George and Lee. I really don't know if they are the good guys or the bad guys,IYKWIM.
What I'm sure of is ,they all know Casey killed Caylee and that she has never been Mother of the Year.
I also know Cindy will throw anyone else under the bus to help Casey,I'm just not sure why .I don't think a mother's love for her daughter is the reason.
I hope Dr. Phil tells it like it is in his summary on Monday.

I wish Dr Phil had asked one more question. "how do you live for three years without an income?"
I would love to know the answer to that question.
I suspect millions of people would love to know the answer to that question. Trips to the Bahamas, escaping losing their house, to say nothing to clothes, new cars??

Just sayin..
The whole interview was useless. Did it really tell you anything you didn't know?

I sometimes think we are being taken for a nation of fools.

Poor little Caylee. There is no end to the greed.

There's still Monday's show :prayer: :crossfingers:

Simple answer to that question; by setting up "foundations", selling pictures, granting network interviews......all paid for by the death of little Caylee. Those are some great grandparents.

And I agree with you.

George is dysfunctional from living in the home with two psychopaths that could be twins instead of mother/daughter.

Perhaps it is because Cindy sees Casey as an extension of herself?

I think when George said he regretted that he didn't do more to prevent what happened, like stay home on the 16th and watched Caylee himself, he really was not saying all he really regretted. I think he knew things were bad that day but he didn't intervene, and he also regrets not manning up and laying the law down on Casey all along, against Cindy's insistence that he just shut up. That is why he feels he failed Caylee. That regret will haunt him until he comes to terms with it by confronting Cindy the controller head on. He can't be that person anymore and survive this. Has he recognized this yet? I have to wonder.

The A's either scammed Dr. Phil about the foundation money not going into their own wallets, or he already knew they could and would, and went forward with the donation anyway to get the interview. I believe it was the latter. They will do it and Dr. Phil will say... well, they said they wouldn't right in the interview..(well knowing they would) Duh.

Phil has a gaggle of lawyers. He knew exactly where that money would end up. He-Does-NOT-Care. His company gets a tax write off for giving to a 'charity'. He wants ratings because that is what keeps his show from being shut down. It also feeds his already enormous ego.

He is a pompous *advertiser censored**.

If anyone goes on that show and expects Phil to help them they are sadly mistaken. He exploits people's problems, plain and simple.

IMO

I think George came into the marriage with those defaults, a sociopathic wife was a really bad combo, add one sociopathic daughter. He chose doormat status.

Outstanding post!

Also gambling can be a substitute for deeper underlying issues. George could have simply done this out of depression or a feeling he was alone and cutoff from his family unit even though he lived right in the home. When one stays sad for long periods of time they often times will find other ways to occupy their minds so they don't dwell on the emptiness they feel inside.

But, imo Cindy never wanted to get to the root cause. She knew George would take total 100% blame like he always does and that would be that. No excuses for George or understanding but a gazillion excuses for the unruly chosen child.
