"The request was to delay an already scheduled June 3 trial to September, but Judge Bruce Kyle did not approve the motion for continuance yet, and instead set a pretrial conference for May 9 at 8:30 a.m. to reassess.

The judge said he wants to see what they can get done by then."

My guess, is they have DNA testing and other testing in the queue which takes a long time. If I was going to the trial, I would not be buying my plane tickets for the first court date as this was requested by both the defense and the prosecution. I think they have an idea of how long the test results are going to take, so I do think it's going to be delayed eventually.

I think primarily of the children these days, and that they can move on with their lives surrounded by loving family and support and hopefully they don't know of all the consternations that their adult Guardians are going through

Thank you everyone for the updates...Niner, JerseyGirl, Legally Bland, dixiegirl1035, Wow and so many others....I do wonder what the Judge knows that has made him decide to keep the original trial dates. I want to be that fly on the wall!

And a 3rd mitigation specialist...MS must not like the first two! Of course we have learned over the years that defendants never like who they hire or are appointed and therefore they cause unnecessary delays. Are most mitigation specialists females? I have never seen or heard of a male.

One last thing....someone slimmed down a bit but has a new look, beard and head hair! I guess he no longer wants to look like his twin. Trying to distance himself.

MsJosie - you asked about male mitigation specialists. In the article posted above your post - it says:

Michael Mummert, representing Mark Sievers, also filed a motion to appoint a new mitigation expert. "You're asking me for a third mitigation expert now?" Judge Bruce Kyle questioned. Mummert said the previous appointee spent ten hours investigating the case and eventually alerted the legal team that she wouldn't be ready for a June trial. "He assures me he can be ready by September," Mummert said of a newly request mitigation expert. The judge said he would consider that motion.

I noticed the attorney using both she & he in his explanation. Wonder if it IS a he? ;)

Thanks Niner....I missed that!

Now I wonder if the two female specialists and MS had a problem working together. I read in the beginning of this case about MS and his ‘friends’, so my mind is now wondering if a male would be better for MS. To me, MS is creepy, but thats MOO.

Will be interesting to see if it is a male specialist, the lawyer could have slipped up...by accident or on purpose.

Sure is different...IMO I feel like he has been talking to Arias about pulling all kinds of deals hoping to get off...remember all the crap she pulled?

A large court room will be needed, jurors separated on each side of the court room? Maybe a new courtroom designed.

The courtroom setup may prove difficult for the media to take video or stills so as not to get the jurors in the picture.

Why not have two separate trials? What is he afraid of?

Please can our wonderful lawyers explain pros and cons. How many times has two sets of jurors been in one court room?

I almost want to say that MS, if found guilty, would use this 2 jurors and 1 trial, to say he was not given a fair chance. He would want a new trial or get off on all charges.

Geez, what other strange things will come out of this? Everyone stay tuned for the next chapter!
