I think what they were TRYING to show, was that the insurance policy would not have paid out in cases of MURDER, but since they did pay out, then it was not murder...?

I think that was a very dumb move by the defense. They are really assuming the jury is stupid if this was the reasoning for the testimony from the insurance agent.

#drewpeterson. Bolingbrook cop Rob Sud on stand for defense, went to Savio home on night of death, describes scene..

Sud was called to the Savio home the night she was found. Says when paramedics found no vitals, he and another officer secured scene.

Sud: doesn't remember seeing a blue towel near Savio's tub

Sud says he doesn't recall if a blue towel was on the tub or not.

Sud says #DrewPeterson was "visibly upset." [ Big freakin deal..]

Frankly, I'm certain he was very upset! I'm sure DP fully expected Kathleen's boyfriend would be the person to discover her. I would bet he was in quite a quandry when no one had found her by Monday, & had to figure out a new plan in a big hurry! Therefore, he makes call after call to make it appear he had become, at the very least, curious as to her whereabouts. I love that there's been several witnesses now that said he told them it was Mary P who was concerned about KS, since they have all testified it was him who asked for a locksmith & have them go in & check on her! At the same time, I have been wondering about all of the short calls he made that that day, including to KS's boyfriend. Are we to understand he was unable to reach him? Does anyone remember what he said he was doing on Sun. & Mon? I think he took his motorcycle out one of those two days, but am I the only one who finds it a bit strange that had he not heard it, he would have at least returned the call's? I do, however, seem to recall that someone on IS said he had been checked out & had a solid alibi...anyone?

Can you believe that. they call this 'witness' in order to make one point, and a kind of superfluous point at that. And then he is impeached anyway.

I wonder if they are going to be strutting around in matching suits and big sunglasses this afternoon? I hope so. :floorlaugh:

:thewhip::cool2::cool2::cool2::cop::

I am soooo happy for todays testimony. Witnesses actually backfired on the defense! This is going Great!

Just got here but now suppose there's little point in reading back.....this appears to be the summation of today's defense presentation??!!

:woohoo:

They will save their Pajamas for closing arguments day, lol!

Good morning all!

If they show up in pajamas I'll pass out.

Will they be nude on the day they deliver their verdict??:what:

(Seriously, I think the "coordination" is merely a way to express themselves -- this is the one thing that they have in their control; there's precious little else, what with their ordered pop-tarting in & out nearly every day, and their having to be careful what they watched & read and heard all those many months prior to this trial when they were restricted with media and things online, etc., in preparation of this trial. I think it shows no bias & only a tad of disrespect, if any at all, which IMO is directed at the judge. We want to throw him down a deep hole & we can always turn the TV off or find something else to do. I think it also shows that they are getting along with each other very well which is a good thing. All just MO, of course, but it doesn't bother me, but it is rather bizarre.)

Thanks to you fine people keeping the rest of us posted. So happy to hear how today went. I hope these jurors are a tad bit smarter than the CA jurors and can connect the dots and follow the money trail.

How ironic that the business that DP jointly owns is called Suds Pub. And Officer Sud was called to the scene that night. And even more ironic is that the officer and the pub have the same name??????? jmo

Thank you all so much for keeping me up on things! This case has more turns than a wine opener!!!!

i need some steps for mind survival to get through the defense portion of this case. Any suggestions? I have devoured all our snacks this morning and started out the door to get the mail and realized I had forgotten to put my shorts on. Have just about gone nuts over this trial. Never seen a trial like this, thank goodness.

OK I have gone daffy through a few trials, most recently Casey Anthony's.
I have cooked meals on weekends so I had frozen meals to fix during the week. I have bought basketfulls of junk food. I have stayed inside for days on end watching trials and hearings, etc. I have taken notes, filled notebooks, and sent nasty emails on occasion. I have donated to TES.

I have never almost left the house without my pants.

IDK I'm only following here not really checking the news on this case elsewhere.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to ask again to see if anyone knows.
Did Greenberg really ask Pontarelli "what jersey would you be wearing?"????

Ok everybody, tomorrow I will be wearing floral pajama bottoms and a teal top, and grey bathrobe. I will be in it all day. One for all and all for one. Lets all be matchy-matchy like the poor pop-tarts and the idiotic DT Lopez's.

:floorlaugh:

I'm losing what mind I had left.:seeya:

Yes, according to someone who was there. That tweet was not a joke. She did say Sox in response.

Yes, he really did open his questioning by asking her what jersey she would wear given a choice...

Through it all — his father's arrests, the court dates, the tabloid stories — Tom Peterson churned out "A" after "A" in the classroom. He excelled in music, earning spots in the high school jazz band and wind symphony, and in sports, playing for the varsity tennis team.

During a recent interview, he curled up on the sofa in his basement — which he calls his domain in a household of three brothers and a sister from three of his father's four marriages — to talk about the difficulties and successes of his life. His oldest brother, Stephen, 31, takes care of the kids.

"I realized I have one life so I'm just going to make it worth it, you know?" he said.

It's an attitude he adopted after suffering through one of life's harshest lessons. Tom Peterson was 11 when his mom was found dead in an empty bathtub at their Bolingbrook home.

So, we're all wearing pajamas for the trial tomorrow? Is that what I'm reading? Can someone write a note to my boss so she doesn't sent me home to change? :please:

Just got here but now suppose there's little point in reading back.....this appears to be the summation of today's defense presentation??!!

:woohoo:

As the morning opened, the state got a huge victory. The JUDGE actually read the letter by Kathleen, describing the scary knife/break-in, to the JURY.

The DT was whining and upset because the judge was the one who read it, so the judge allowed them to stipulate that it wasn't necessarily true, what he read t them. lol

Okay so with that, the State rested it's case.

Then the DT put on their arguments, [ jury was not present] that the state did not meet it's burden of proof. [Greenberg: “There’s nothing here! NOTHING here! . . . did they ever say to you, ‘This is the piece of evidence that puts Drew Peterson at the house this weekend’ . . . did they ever say that they had a theory about how it was done? No, because they don’t . . . they just hope that this jury dislikes Mr. Peterson . . . ‘we can’t tell you that it wasn’t an accident . . . but presume he did it; years later, we want you to presume he did it’ . . . they have said that he drowned her in the bathtub. They have said that he drowned her. That is what the indictment reads. And where is the evidence that he drowned her? Even their own doctors say she drowned . . . how did he drown her? Did he hold her down? How did she get the injury to the back of her head? I have never seen a murder case where they do not ask the pathology how that injury was inflicted? . . . how did it get there? . . . nobody said that; nobody said it because they have no theory as to how this happened. It’s as if they’re trying to nail a clump of Jell-O to a tree, and have it stick there.”]

And the state argued back that they did offer a sound case, and they went back and forth for a bit. AND THE JUDGE SAID THE CASE WAS SOLID AND GAVE HIS REASONS WHY:
judge says state has demonstrated a death occurred and, if you believe their witness, a crime took place

So the state opened the day and had two major victories immediately.

Then the DT began their case....and it fell totally flat...:floorlaugh:

I am then already dressed for tomorrow then in my monkeys and butterlies jammies. I will just roll outta bed and I am ready!
