The DA’s Office was awarded the maximum amount of $500,000, plus an additional $33,320 to be used over a three-year period. The grant is being used to fund a part-time cold case investigator and to pay for private DNA testing with Othram, a lab based in The Woodlands, Texas.
One of those cases, a DA spokesperson confirmed to 11Alive this week, is that of 35-year-old Tiwuan Johnson.
Tiwuan, a husband and father of two, was shot and killed at a gas station on N. Hairston Rd in Stone Mountain in February 2020.''
'The DeKalb County Police Department has declined to release many details about the case, though it did share surveillance camera footage from that night of a man they say is a suspect in the case.'
