12 dead, nearly 50 injured after 2 explosions rock Boston Marathon, suspect identified and being guarded in hospital

The Post's numbers are way higher than numbers anybody else is reporting.

2 dead and 22 injured is the current official report.

eta: toll may be rising, so I guess take everythign with a grain of salt and don't panic.

This is just horrific. I'm glad that they have surveillance of the man putting the backpack in the trash can...it would seem that there are more than one person bringing the backpacks though...under the grand stand....they have intact bombs....I'm so hopeful they can not detonate them so that they can gain evidence.

I was going to go to the marathon today.....my heart aches for everyone....people losing their lives...limbs....omg
