What I can't get over - I don't spend much time in crowds - is how many of those people have black backpacks! I mean, really??

This is a needle in a haystack if I EVER saw one!

I noticed it yesterday, but I am also struck by the numbers of people who cleared that area within a minute or two! It was a mass exodus but seems like it all went smoothly.

GL, I don't believe that's death...I believe that's shock and significant pain, but not death. To try to put it delicately, there is a certain pallor to the skin which happens close to death (think of the young man with Carlos - there's a blueness and strange grey-green color; that is the color of impending death...and how he survived I have NO idea), that this AfAm woman does not have.

As we have not been informed of a subsequent death at a hospital (although, tbh, I suspect there will be at least one more), I don't believe she has died since that photo. And again, it's my belief that the AfAm woman was in significant pain and significant shock.

ETA: I just heard on Anderson Cooper that the third victim was a chinese lady, and that this was confirmed by the Chinese embassy. She was apparently studying here, and her name is not being released per the family's request. Apologies if this has already been posted.

I agree about Jeff. I am was surprised he pulled though just due to the color of his screen and how it showed significant blood loss. And more so today with the pics taken seconds from the blast at how much blood he did lose around him. I am SO glad he pulled though. What a fighter! Those rescue workers truly saved him IMO. Any longer and he may not have pulled though. Absolute heroes, they disregarded the possibility of more bombs going off and went straight to helping people. Even after the 2nd bomb went off, it didn't faze them.

What do you want us to see? Tia

I want LE to see where the girls were standing and to look at those around them.

Like one poster said perhaps they can see the same person at each bomb site.

Also, things we think may be unimportant may be the break in the case.

I thought LE wanted all photos/videos.

I do not have links to the graphic images, as they are no longer online, I don't believe.

documentingreality will never delete them from their site.
I don't think, anyway.

if you zoom in to the right hand side of the photo that was taken before the bomb exploded there is a guy walking away and hes got a black backpack on.. just to the left of the lamp-post

I agree bassline. You might want to send that tip in. Couldn't hurt.

Scorekeeper, please sent this in....it is better to be safe! Thanks for your patience! :seeya:

I said the same thing yesterday on another site I post on (nothing to do with crime or trials)

It always shocks me, even after seeing it so often (especially lately), seeing First Responders, Emergency Personnel and the Common Citizen running TOWARDS the tragedy while others flee.

It takes a special type of person to do that.

It's a requirement if you want to live in New England -- you have to have a black backpack and a gray hoodie. Or a green one if you're a Celtics fan.

Just my few observations, I (knowing that the 3rd death was someone of Asian decent) immediately picked out the 3 people standing directly infront of the girls. I also noticed the buy with the black backpack, maroon shirt, and black hat. I think it was the "look for a black backpack" and that was the first thing I saw...

Such a terrible tragedy. Thankfully there were so many people with cameras to capture what should have been such a terrific event! LE has to be overwhelmed with photos and video...

This photo shows the finish line and location of the first bomb at 3:36:30 into the race, approximately 33 minutes before the explosion. At the bottom of the picture, you'll see Krystle Campbell and her friend Karen Rand. This is the nearest before-blast photo I've seen.

Looking at the density of the crowd and the time it would take to move through it, I'm inclined to believe that at this point the bomb is already planted, or perhaps the bomber is in the scene. I expect other victims are in the scene as well though I've not yet identified them.

since you originally posted this, have you shared with the FBI or local LE?

Is it possible that this whole event is connected somehow to the killings of the Texas lawmen and the Colorado killing?

Random thought, yes...but...possible?

I am not convinced this is homegrown; and I'm equally not convinced that it's not. And the ricin tainted letter being received today does not strike me as coincidence at all.

OK, back to reading...I'm pages behind.

I've seen absolutely nothing that suggests any connection to TX or Co.

Under the flags, right next to the paper boxes, there is something that looks like a large black bag/or several trash bags?

I saw that but it seems that the bomb went off behind the barrier and the flags.

How long was it between the picture being taken (the flickr one showing Krystel, Karen and the possible Asian victim) and the bomb going off? (Sorry if it's already been said). There seems to be a lot of movement in that area so remember people will have maybe changed positions, such as the woman in the brown jacket moving into the gap behind Krystel.

Hearing all about this makes me feel so physically sick. These poor people I just can't get my head around this at all. The first image I saw of the bombing reports was Jeff in the wheelchair but it was cropped to not show his injuries. I then stumbled on a report that showed the rest of the photo and I just can't get the image out of my head. Whoever created those bombs wanted maximum damage to those poor people, they had every intention to just rip their bodies apart.

How the h*ll did some of these poor people survive, what wonderful people that helped save their lives. In all that destruction, fear and pain there were people who just saved lives even when it was so dangerous and upsetting to do so. Real heroes there that day.
