Really, I am suspcious that the injuries were anything more than superficial to beging with because I am an ER nurse, and here were I live, LE brings people in all the time, it seems that in our neck of the woods they have a rule about questioning someone who is spurting blood from a severe gash in the head, (a severe laceration of the scalp is going to bleed until stitched because the scalp is extremely vascular, and usually a CT scan is done to confirm that there are no other injuries from head trauma, like fractured skull or subdural hematoma, along with other tests for concussion and such) or a broken nose that is causing extreme facial swelling and possible interfering with a person being able to breath....they bring them in even in handcuff, and get them treated BEFORE they take them to the station for questioning...

Guess they are just different than Florida PD that way....
So if the injuries were superficial and not serious that would make it more likely they were self inflicted vs from an attack?

“He had been so looking forward to going to his junior prom, and he had already started talking about all the senior activities in high school,’’ his mother, Sybrina Fulton, 46, said in a voice hollowed and somber. “He will never do any of those things.’’

Yes, but if Zimmerman had injuries this serious, I would think that LE would have taken photographs of them? A broken nose and a serious cut to the head? Even if Zimmerman didn't want his medical records released, they could at least ask LE to release the photographs they took of the evidence... oh wait? :waitasec:

They would have taken lots of photos and lots of Hospital reports if they knew it would turn out to be such a big case.
NO...The problem is LE treated this like a parking ticket and a mans life is in the balance.

Absolutely! It was the CLUBHOUSE not an unoccupied unit where he may be seen as a threat to someone if he had looked into a window or something but.... I can't believe you are even saying that it is MORE suspicious to duck under a CLUBHOUSE awning to jump out of the rain and put up his hoodie to protect his head and phone headset from the rain and then step right back out to continue walking home in the rain. Neither of those instances would be even remotely suspicious to me. (ETA - UNLESS he was peeking into windows...which he was NOT) Both of those instances are suspicious to you.

It saddens me that there are people who believe in the same views that you have. Some of the articles that you have posted here in this forum for everyone to see have been taken directly from racist websites which promote hate. I'm learning that I've led a pretty sheltered life. I never realized the extent of racism that there is out there.

But, I'm also very glad that I've never had the same viewpoint as you do on any topic that I can remember...which shows me that I am not like you.

Plus the clubhouse has a pool. What draws the attention of kids these days faster than a pool? He could have been check to see if anyone was in the Clubhouse or if the pool would be open later. Any number of reasons to be at the Clubhouse. The most logical is he called his gf and put his earbuds in and did not want them to get wet. And given what we know, it makes more sense. jmo

And to you they MAY be suspicious, but the fact of the matter is, that I can go outside and do as many suspicious things as I want to, I can burn clothes in my barbeque grill, and I can dig grave sized holes in my yard....I can put on a ski mask in the summer, or long sleeves, and lurk around my neighborhood....but as long as what I am doing is not illegal, then nobody except LE can require that I answer their questions, and if I choose to simply ignore them and leave they can't shoot me....

IMO, JMHO and stuff, All the rhetoric about how TM just MUST have attacked Zimmerman in some manner makes absolutely no sense at all, I think Zimmerman must have been parked in an area that TM path to where he was staying brought him alongside on the sidewalk, or closer to him, and that's where he thought TM was "checking him out" When TM realized he was being followed he attempted to get away, and told his girlfriend that he thought he has lost his follower, and then bam, there he was again. The fact that he asked GZ "why are you following me" leads me to believe that when he realized that Zimmerman was still there or was back again, that Zimmerman was much closer than TM was comfortable with, and the next thing we hear is "What are you doing around here" and common sense tells me (particularly in light of the fact that it is apparent that Zimmerman was thoroughly invested in this chase because A$$&** always get away) that the next thing that happened was that TM turned and attempted to actually get away, and Zimmerman attempted to restrain him in some manner, by grabbing him, and got bopped in the nose, and maybe surprised so much by that that he slipped in wet grass and fell flat on his fanny and smacked the back of his head in the bargain causing an abraison, (I totally discount that there was a cut or gash, because he would have been taken to ER for stitches and CT scan otherwise, and yes, if he was not transported he did have to sign a release for emt's very similar to the release against medical advice, so that he could not at a later date sue them if he did have a subdural hematoma or something and was seriously injured. If he had a "broken" nose, then he would have required extensive medical since a broken nose can result in some very serious medical complications due to swelling in some cases, and he could not have been questioned under those circumstances. This is what my common sense and the little information we have leads me to believe, and it is what I will believe until there is concrete information that refutes it once again IMO, JMHO and stuff.

Great post. I think Zimmerman was trying to make a citizens arrest to keep him from getting away like always. IMO

Not particularly, but if the injuries were superficial and not serious it would be far more difficult to convince me and I am sure many other people that Mr. Zimmerman was in fact seriously afraid for his life, and that his fear was the fear that a reasonable person would feel, enough fear to respond with deadly force....IMO, JMHO and stuff

Dad wasn't home that night so TM couldn't have said anything to him.

TM had a phone. If Dad was not home when TM left for the store I imagine TM called his Dad said he was running to the store and he might go to the movies later with his cousin. Why would the father lie? jmo

ABSOLUTLY IMHO LE SUCKS ALL THE WAY HERE.

But I am not prepared to hang Zimmerman NO WAY.
I am very upset by the Handsome young TM’s Death long before his time.
and I am not saying GZ should not be trialed. NO WAY AM I SAYING THAT.

I do not know the facts, I am not happy that It is in Florida, Many cases have gone astray there.
Many have been International Sensations to keep the money machine going.
I cannot say that they have come out with justice.
It has been a string of circumstances and misshapes, a string of bad decisions, and lack of accountability
AND - I am not trusting that Zimmerman has a fair chance.
I do not think there was any murder here….
I consider Criminal Negligence for sure,
But where are all the records that can create a fair and just case???

I agree. My rage is directed at LE plus other city officials and their subsequent handling of this case and probably other previous cases. They handled it like some stray dog was shot. Not a human being.
Sadly the homicide that GZ committed is not that unusual, just the aftermath is mind boggling and disgusting.
If/when GZ does get charged now, how on earth will he get a fair trial unless they bring the Pinellas jury back.

I can not think of any phone where that is not true.

My Blackberry doesn't do this. If my phone is off, when I turn it on, it only show that I have new voice mails and e-mails, not missed calls.

Respectfully snipped by me.

Sensei, you are my kinda neighbor! :rocker:

Thank you! I have been accused of being about a half bubble off Plumb, but my neighbors have gotten used to me lurking about in my ski mask...

My 17-year-old (18 in July) niece will be going to prom soon. Graduate High School. Go to New York City as her graduation present. Go off to College. I'm so sad for Trayvon and his family.

My LG doesn't show missed calls either when it's shut down, nor does my sisters net10 Android (we experimented).

So, what was so funny. I'm not getting it???

I think perhaps they find it ludicrous that the one person who was actually invested in the chase Mr. Zimmerman, would be the one who actually put his hands on TM FIRST....They believe that he left his vehicle against the advice of the person on the phone, and followed TM for the sole purpose of getting answers, but would not dream of ever putting his hands on his since he had shown himself to be so mild and restrained, so reasonable that it is inconceiveable that he was the one who actually initiated any physical contact, it just MUST have been the scared kid who went out of his way, the one who didn't even hang up the phone with his girlfriend before launching into a frenzied attack on this stranger who had the nerve to follow him, the one he was running away from, the one that he showed every indication that he simply wanted to avoid

I am thinking that is what they find so funny IMO, JMHO and stuff

There is a difference. My husband was a detective in the General Investigations Department which included homocide. Homocide detectives are trained in reconstruction of the crime scene, evaluating blood spatter evidence (no one collected GZ's shirt, or tested the blood on him to see if it was his or TM/s), gathering evidence, taking witness statements, etc. Narcotic officers can be officers and are not necessarily detectives and they focus their training on narcotics.

It's pretty clear that a determination was made based on GZ's claim that TM appeared to be on drugs but there still should have been a homocide detective on the scene because they work 24 hours a day. I still don't get how a patrol officer made this judgment call without evidence? jmo

BEM: What judgment call did a patrol officer make without evidence?

Well my husband was on call 24 hours if there was more than one homocide for the duty detective to handle another one off duty would be called in. It appears this should have been called into homocide by the responding officers and not called into the narcotics division. But it's just ironic that GZ mentions he thinks the kid is on drugs and acting strangely and a narcotics officer shows up and no sign of homocide. Way too neat a package for me. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds. To me by not have a homocide detective investigate they compromised the scene.

It sounds to me as if they were all out of there within the hour. Bet a homocide detective has this case now. jmo

Maybe he was getting a bird dog fee from the narcs. :innocent:

Now we waite til Monday....
Monday of which month and which year?

This case will become an international money machine.
It will be sensationalized, written and rewritten
–

And at this point I just want to send TM’s parent’s And GZ Blessings.
I hope it will be a fair ride.

May God be with you.

Tough one.

Regarding Zimmerman's injuries, the NEW claims don't hold water. The initial police report says SFD (an EMT I'm guessing) checked Zimmerman out in the back of a police car. In order to believe that his nose was broken or that the cut required stitches, we would also have to believe that trained first responder was inept, incompetent, or just not doing his/her job.

If he had serious injuries, he would have been transported to the hospital, stabilized, and then questioned.

If it doesn't make sense, it's usually not true. JMO MOO IMO
