It was so nice of the reporter to cut the video off right after they asked the mother if she thought the roommate took her daughter. The person doing the reporting was in a panic because she thought the sound was turned off, even though it wasn't.

Is there a "choppy amatuer video Part 2" out there somewhere ?

and bedroom door of mom/stepdad's room, which is just to the right of the backdoor kept unlocked, does not close properly and is left open.

Points I have been pondering. If true. The note. Was that planned? So Diana could spend the day with a "new friend"? It has been stated when told No she tore up the note. Was she angry? Did she want a day out on her part yet somebody grooming her had different intentions? Since that failed did she have a sneak out plan? Or did somebody come in? The stove has me stumped tho if she snuck out.

The video just made this so much more bizarre. Parents' door open, unlocked (side) door and Diana's door only just feet apart........and no one heard anything.

Their daughter had a Facebook page they didn't know about.

My guess would be she either set it up at school or had a friend do it. The majority of the schools in the nation just let out for summer vacation last week.

I guess parents really are the last ones to know things........................darn kids.

I read this but I have gone through hundreds of Diana Alvarez and I still can't find. Still searching

Jmo:
26 yr old male ex renter: Red herring.

Paper with party address Diana ripped up: red herring

Child reportedly acting "funny" past few weeks: red herring (also could be early buds of puberty)

Father in Mexico: red herring

Oil on stove: red herring.

Reported 2 am sightng, no dog barking, locked unlocked doors:
Red herring, red herring red herring.

It really alarms me when we have parents spewing so many conflicting stories (ie: sister/mother last saw at 2a), and when we have many multiple interviews given. It strikes me that these parents are really concerned with getting their story out, more than they are concerned about finding Diana.

JMO: Something happened in that house. Perhaps an accident, perhaps not. This is moo. Not saying who , just way too much talking going on.

My thoughts exactly.

The most likely reason the roommate hasn't been described is that LE knows his name, has located and talked to him, and knows where to find him if they need him again. If he's not involved, there's no reason to call the internet mobs down on him.

Makes total sense to me.

The roommate comes back to get the girl.

The dog doesn't bark, either because it is on the other side of the house or because it knows this guy.

The roommate quietly slips in through the back door and into her room to collect her up.

If the roommate is caught in the act, his cover story will be that he came back to get some things because he got a job, or he left something behind by mistake, blah, blah, blah.

In the most sinister twist, either before or after getting the little girl out of her bed and outside the home, he turns the burner on under a skillet full of grease and oil. This obviously was an attempt to create a flash fire and light the whole house up like a Tiki torch, while people were still asleep inside. This would be called attempted murder, stacked on top of the kidnapping and child abduction charges.

I'd guess this happened very shortly before the parents awoke, say around 5 --5:30 a.m., since it would've still been pretty dark outside.

It all seems pretty cut and dried to me.......not to mention the part about the ex roommate avoiding their calls. He may have finally answered to see how much trouble he was in and to find out what they knew. He may have been fairly unhappy that they were still alive to call him in the first place.

Is school out in Florida yet? Schools here in Michigan don't let out until mid June. Many 9 year olds these days seem to have tablets and phones. I'd say a friend helped. I can't find a page though. Was it deactivated by police?

If it was the roommate I hope he was dumb enough to bring his phone with him.

I'm sure he was, or he left it in his vehicle. Good enough.

I'm still concerned with the quinceanera. The sd appears very credible to me.

Emotions escalate, theory surfaces as family enters Day 4 without missing girl

Family members said they have a theory about the disappearance of 9-year-old Diana Alvares, who was last seen Sunday at 2 a.m. in her home on Unique Circle in the Sheltering Pines Mobile Home Village.

Hand-drawn photos of butterflies embellish the door to her room, which has a since that reads “Keep Out.” Inside, colorful clothes hang over Alvares’ mattress, which is on the floor and missing sheets. Before she vanished, the 9-year-old may have taken with her a green blanket with flower print, deputies and family members said.

[...]

She is 4-foot-4 with black hair and brown eyes, authorities said. Alvares might be wearing blue bottoms and her parents said she went to bed in a black long-sleeve shirt with rhinestones. When Hernandez woke up around 7 a.m., she noticed something strange: all four of the burners on her stove were turned on, according to Alvares’ stepfather Uribe Jimenez.

He noticed Alvares’ purple-striped shoes were missing from her room.

A family member said Alvares could be with a man who rented a room in the home. Alvares was very attached to this man, who moved out of the home two weeks ago, the family member said. According to family, this would explain why the family dog did not bark when Alvares disappeared.

Deputies have not confirmed any details about this former housemate.

BBM - Those are new details.

Brief video of inside Diana's room is at the link.

Are the sheets missing or were there no sheets on to begin with ? This would be important.

Cops spent hours inside the house. LE might have taken the sheets. So, IMO, no way of knowing, unless LE tells us.

I would think this is the way LE left it after doing the SW. They would take the sheets in for forensic testing.
