OVIEDO, Fla. -- A 2-year-old child was found dead in his crib at a home in Seminole County on Sunday.

Police said they've been at the scene in Oviedo all day trying to determine what happened to the child.

Seminole County sheriff's deputies said they're not entirely sure the story they're being told is adding up. ​

I watched the interview, how could the mother be so calm?? I would have been a wreck, apparently she was at work ...I dunno if she knows what happened or not, guess we wait for autopsy report

But... it sounds as if the baby was shaken. The mom said when he was nonresponsive, she moved him back a little and blood came from his nose. That sounds like head trauma to me..... I am NOT a medical person, so obviously I am speculating. Mom was very calm and did not appear to be overly distressed. She could talk about it and explain what happened. Tad surprising to see her so well controlled.

I agree I thought SBS too.

Also there is no way I could be talking to reporters when I just found my baby a few hours earlier.

But then again - one never knows what one would do in a situation like that until you are there and I pray I never have to be in their shoes. ​

I thought that too about her being so calm, but when I listened to the way she spoke. she spoke about him in the present tense not in the past. I honestly think it has not hit her yet that he is really gone. I hope this one turns out to be natural causes. These cases of death by child abuse are way to common right now.

You know what "bugs" me?? The report that the mom did not check on her son when she got home late from work and did not check on him until late Sunday morning (LE was called at 11AM). She didn't check on him because she "thought he was sleeping in"?? A 3 year old "sleeping in"?? Does that really happen? My kiddos are 9 and 11 and they still don't sleep in more than about 45 mins, even on weekends.

Elma Goldrine, and Monday she told Eyewitness News off camera that she has had concerns in the past about injuries AJ sustained while in Lenz's car, who was watching the child the night he died. Goldrine said he'd broken his arm and ended up with head injuries that Lenz said were from bouncing on the couch or bed at the Oviedo home.

Why oh why did she not go with her gut and keep her kid away from this guy.

"An arrest affidavit released this morning provided more details about what was going on inside the residence on Kerwood Circle near Oviedo this weekend.

Lenz told Seminole County Sheriff's investigators he drank about five beers Saturday night, the affidavit said.

"Lenz is on probation from a DUI arrest in 2008 and told investigators he knew that he violated his probation by drinking the beers. He was also charged Monday night with violating that probation."

I have a really stupid question about this case, and almost all cases where the boy friend abuses and/or kills his girl friend's child. Do you believe all these men are violent, murderous killers, or is it possible they just aren't aware how delicate a little child is?

I realize that, not being the natural fathers, these men do not have a vested interest in the child and may view these children as an impediment. However, is it possible there is more ignorance than involved in some of these cases than murderous intent?

I'm starting to ask myself the hows and why all these little ones are being killed.

I don't think it's ignorance of how to handle a child. Even most other children know you have to handle a little one with TLC. I think they see these children as a burden. Why do I have to stay home and watch my girlfriend's kid (some other guy's kid) while she works. I think they're immature also and take their anger out on someone that can't fight back.

If I'm understanding the article correctly this mother thought he was abusing her child. WTH was he still in her home?????

It had said he was in trouble already for battery with LE. (I can't find link but will con't to look.

1. Investigators said Jason Lenz has an extensive criminal history. So LE know his history.

2. Investigators confirmed some of the previous injuries that were reported including a fractured elbow and a head injury on a separate occasion.

They also said the blow that killed A.J. was not the only injury the toddler suffered Saturday night. So why was he not in trouble for the previous injuries and allowed to stay with AJ?​

Looking through her pics on myspace she has a daughter. Wonder who has custody? she also states on a comment of one of her pics see more on www.dunkas.com not much in the way of clothing on this site.

Who would get on myspace after losing their child? That would be the last place I would be.
