JSO Update - Officially found, Dec 17, 2019
  • Lively and talkative
  • Asked for cheese pizza that was quickly delivered
  • At the local hospital for observation
  • Took shelter in a dilapidated pump house
  • Found 400m into the woods
Questions:
  • Found in the dilapidated pump house, don't know if they were there the whole time until they talk to them more.
  • They were not trapped inside.
  • No reason to believe they weren't alone the entire time
  • They do believe they had just wandered off
  • No connection to the car mentioned earlier. They had very limited information, not much beyond Spongebob music, no reason to believe it is connected.
  • Seem to be in good health. Maybe a few bumps and bruises. Very talkative. Talked a lot to the JFRD personnel that carried them out.
  • That area had not been searched yet.
  • One of the rescue team members heard a child's voice and started looking closely around the area and then found them after hearing them talking
  • Children seemed happy and talkative. Rescuers gave them a bottle of water and some candy. They happily chewed on candy, then asked for cheese pizza, rescuers all chipped in to go get it delivered to them.
  • Sheriff does not expect any charges to be filed, they will continue evaluating, but the parents were very cooperative from the very beginning and they expect that to continue.
  • Not sure why dogs didn't pick it up, planning on evaluating that. Could be a number of things from the conditions in the area, the fact that they were very small children, etc.

It is great to see the "Found Safe" banner next to their names. So many cases where the banner is so tragic. I agree with the family 's advice to "watch your babies." Welcome home, kids.

"News4Jax was told 19 JFRD search and rescue personnel were doing a line search, essentially walking shoulder to shoulder, about 4 p.m. when the children were located under some sort of tin in the woods near their Whitehouse mobile home community on Jacksonville’s Westside.

A cousin ran over when she saw the commotion."
