Det: What happened yesterday?

JS: “I just toppled over…the last straw…my daughter…is mouthy…she calls me names….I forgot to get the mail…she had a lot of mail…but that’s ok, because I knew….we were coming to suicide…since she’s been so bad…”

Dave is her brother. He wrote her a pretty snarky email about a week or two before the murders -- basically telling her to pull herself together -- that it was her fault that Parker hadn't made general, and expressing disdain that she couldn't even spell words correctly (and saying he expected her to use correct spelling and grammar in her reply), that she was lucky that Parker took her back in after all the times she went into mental hospitals, etc.

If deep down you don't believe that your sister is that mentally ill, that her stays at the clinic are more of a vaca at a spa or that she has pulled this stuff for as long as you've known her with no good outcome in sight then I can sympathize with the brother. IMO he was very frustrated and could read between the lines that his sister was jeapordizing her marriage, her way of life and any relationship with her kids.

Sometimes tough love does work. About the misspelling I think the brother knew the errors were from alcohol and that's why he was bothered by them. JMO

Det: Did you tell your psychiatrist that?

JS: “You better make it on the first try”

Det: Was he talking about suicide?

JS: “suicide”

Det: Why?

JS: “Because you’re out…out cold.”

Daves email (and all the others in evidence) are here-

They are in a strange order, sometimes repeated, just a warning!
(This has been posted before, just putting it here again for anyone who missed it).

Detective: So, why do you take Abilify?

JS: To stop the shaking

(note: "shaking" and other involuntary movements or "Tardive Dyskensia" is a side effect of Abilify)

Det: So, did you have anything to drink yesterday?

JS: I had beer, and then wine

Det: When was that?

JS: I dunno....after dinner....

(dinner????)

Big red flag for alcohol abuse. It is socially acceptable to have a couple of drinks with a meal. The amount of liquor and the time she started drinking are both lies. IMO

This email IMO just shows how great the misconception of MI is. I wondered if it was this email that helped send her over the edge. :(

This in response to the earlier post regarding a stepson with paranoid schizophrenia who stabbed his family and got 7 years in prison. It would not let me quote and post because thread was closed. Here is my response to that post:

This is a perfect example why people with CHRONIC MI need to be sentenced to a state hospital which basically is a prison for the criminally insane to be medicated and monitored. They are locked up. Most likely they would not be let out on the streets again into the community if they murdered, violent or not stable. The criteria to ever be released is strict. Most incarcerated in hospitals who kill like Andrea Yates are NEVER released, Im sure JS would not either.

He got sentenced to 7 years once he serves the required percentage of the 7 years he is guaranteed to be let out even if he is not safe to the community. HE WILL BE OUT ON THE STREETS AGAIN and has the potential to killing his family or someone else next time around. Schizophrenia and Schizo-affective disorder is degenerative meaning it only gets WORSE. Especially if not treated. Hospitals will NOT release if he or she is a danger to society. They are equipped with trained professionals treating these illnesses that Kill.

My sister who became a nurse anesthetist who worked at Patton State Hospital in CA going through school.

It could have been from the alcohol, but more likely from her anti-psychotic meds, which can cause cognitive dysfunction. (that's one reason why mentally ill people stop taking their meds -- they feel stupid when they're on them)

Thank you to Popsicle and all that have posted the tweets and insight into MI. It is really helpful.

I nominate Monaco for witness of the year...

I take that back - he will be important - especially with this pending question - what were his thoughts>?? Does she seem normal? Anything odd?

I agree if they would just cut to the chase and ask the bloody question!!

Agree. The email may have nudged her in the direction she DECIDED to take. She realized that a member of her own family was siding with Parker and the kids. What would I want to do to someone who has been in her bed for the past 50 days??? Until I've walked a mile in the brother's shoes....

WHere do you think we can obtain this video, after the fact... what is the best local Internet-news site, that would carry? (Okay, I am taking a break... view only mode) (smile). Was looking forward to seeing how she carried herself in there...
Luv ya,

The Gjonka

He reminds me from an extra from "Casino" or "Goodfellas" (I hear a little bit of accent that reminds me of NY?...Maybe he is a snowbird)

yes, this whole..

"is that a cash register?"

"does it take credit cards?"

Looong pause....(everyone looking at silent video)

:hourglass:

Now the good stuff:

"was there anything that struck you odd about the conversation or interaction you had with JS?"

Witness: "No"

"How would you describe your interaction with JS on that day?

Witness: "A normal sale"

so based on his testimony, she didn't' have the TD and appeared normal, coherent and sane.

Wonder how the defense will approach the questioning of this witness?
