Poor baby. Beautiful boy.

They never ever deserved him. Selfish, lazy .

im sure she named him that because it was HER second chance since she lost the other one.... never a thought to his little chance. im so disgusted. I cant even.

Acting on a tip from Wed night that lead them right to Chance's body? I think there's a high probability sperm or egg donor (sorry, I can't call them parents) finally broke down and told authorities exactly where they buried the body. Poor little boy. I'm so sad for him that it was those two who brought him into the world. He never stood a chance. It irks me they had the gall to name him that.

Now the finger pointing and he said/she said begins, I suppose. I am so angry.

I bet he ran his mouth, because she would never give up king joe. uuuughhh.

A tip. Hmmmm. Who would know this? Did ~mommie~ or ~daddy~ dearest get to talk-talk-talking and meth-babble it to someone? Did someone else find the baby -- deceased -- and hide him -- possibly paranoid due to Duane?

I would think that if there is a trial, the tipster would have to testify -- IF the authorities know who the tipster is. Her sister, anonymously?

I think it will be a while before we know more details. Prosecutors & LE don't talk details much when they're facing a grand jury, charges, arrests, etc., etc., etc.

I am still fairly knew to all of this type of stuff. Will they release a cause of death once it's known? Or tell us WHEN death likely occurred? Or will we have to wait years to hear that info?

it depends. sometimes they play their cards close but sometimes it is in the charging affidavit. we may know sooner since FL has sunshine law.

Poor Chance, and my heart went out to the Sheriff when he did the press conference.

Are the so-called "parents" eligible for the death penalty? If so I'd like to volunteer to "flick the switch"!!!

For everyone following this thread, I don't know about you but one of these would be nice :grouphug:

You'd have to negotiate with a whole lot of other volunteers, including me.

I am sad that he was found this way but glad that he can be laid to rest with dignity that he didn't receive in life. I pray he didn't suffer in whatever the so called parents did to him. I hope they spend every living moment they have reliving the terror of killing one child maybe two. Let their life haunt them and karma return with the death penalty for both

Any FL lawyers around? I'm wondering if this case qualifies for the death penalty?

Dunno about FL specifically, but many states have in their statutes verbiage about "cruel & unusual" or "heinous" and some have if the victim is less that a certain age, like 6 or 8 y/o, etc. I think we'll see it if there is a trial & if FL allows for it. FL is pretty tuff -- I'm betting that the DP will be all over it. JMHO.

If there is indeed a heaven, at least Duane and Chance are together now. It comforts me to know they have each other; if not here, as it should have been, at least they are there for each other there.

Rest in peace, little ones. We're all thinking of you.

The only hope now is she never walks free, and can never birth another child.

If LE can't pinpoint a cause of death, the parents will claim that an accident happened and they panicked and buried him. I don't think either will get much time on any charges.

how far was today's search area from the apartment of the perps?

ETA just answered my own self - looks like about a 25 minute drive.

Someone picked that spot. Wondering why. Now I am off to find out the address of the home that had the fire last year and where they were living when Duane died. The area they left that baby came to mind for a reason.

approx. 13 miles from their house

I agree, the DP would be for a charge of premeditated murder. If they claim it was an accident and there is no proof of them planning it I doubt they will get the DP. Hopefully (for the sake of charging them) they will find evidence to rule the death a homicide, then maybe they can use the comments of the mother such as fearing she will hurt him and that she despises him or whatever it was to argue it was premeditated. If they can't find a cause or determine method of death and neither parent admits what happened (assuming it really wasn't an accident) and say it was an accident and they freaked and buried him or something I don't know what they can do. May be looking at another Rachelle Bond situation, but I hope not.

I can't understand why these people did not just give the baby to a family member to raise. Why keep him and kill him, unless it actually was an accidental death, or something due to their drug-fueled negligence? I guess I'll never understand people like this.

Seeing the Sheriff break down as he did really ripped my heartstrings. A big guy, tuff as nails, I would guess, with the really bad ones, seeing so many bad things. Every day. And then finding that little body just broke him up. Oh, so touching. He's gotta be a good guy. I'll bet sleep won't come easily for him tonight. Bless them all.

I fear the same thing as well. But on the other hand, they did report Duane's death immediately and Kristen really enjoyed the sympathy and attention she received after his passing. I suspect Chance's death was completely different and that they buried him and ran because they knew his manner of death would most certainly be a provable homicide - blunt force trauma, I suspect. I think Kirsten would have played the sympathy card for all she could get if she for one second thought she could pass Chance's death off as an "accident" or "SIDS" or "infection".

No, they ran for a reason. The game was up and they knew it.
