When he made the threats in February, they must have asked him why he wanted to kill his mother, and I wonder how he responded.
yes- the whole situation after killing his father- he was acquitted but everyone says he did it, which is odd in itself, leaves a lot unrevealed. The news video above says "Baker Acted 3X" so there must be a lot of history.

'He's already, at 17 years of age, shot and killed his father and got away with it, and stabbed his mother in the neck so hard that the knife went all the way through.

'Now he's killed two people, and killed his mother and father, and I can assure you based upon his conduct, had he gone to live with his grandmother at the end of this, and she had crossed him, she would be next.'

According to PCSO, he had also been charged with domestic violence battery against his mom in November 2023 by the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.

“The reason he battered his mother is because she was disciplining him and took his video game privileges away,” said Sheriff Judd. “He pushed her to the ground and he stomped on her.”

The teen is being charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping, and violation of a no-contact order.

(I wonder if the no-contact order was for his mom? The murder happened at the grandmother's house. Was he living with his grandmother & not his mom?)

IIUC in the prior case of CG having slain his father in Oklahoma, no charges were ever filed. Self defense apparently could not be ruled out. So IIRC there was no prior charge, trial, nor acquittal. Therefore he could still be tried in that case depending on any evidence assembled or charges filed.

That said, do have to wonder whether OK officials had investigated that well enough? Given the accused’s propensity for this type of fatal familial violence. MOO

KOCO 5 ABC News online September 12, 2024 article by Alyse Jones entitled ‘Florida murder case could reopen Lincoln County self-defense shooting case’. Which speaks to the OK prior circumstances:

Shocking new details

"Catherine's killing was the last act of violence in the family's troubled past,
which includes repeated threats of murder,
alleged domestic abuse
and a nasty divorce battle that concluded with the killing of Collin's father Charles, 41, last year.

The teen's parents were engaged in a legal battle over Collin when Charles,
who had full custody of the teen, was fatally shot in the chest and head.

The former couple divorced in May, 2020, after 20 years of marriage,
according to court documents where Catherine accused Charles of decades of abuse."

Also says that State authorities told her to continue living with him in her house...though she was afraid.

I say this a lot but look at his soulless eyes - there's nothing there IMO.
