That could very well be! Neighbors thought it was around 9 and they could have been off by 30-45 min. How far is work from her home? I am wondering how long it would have taken to get someone from work to get to Dr. S's home to do the wellness check? Was the SUV report just on NG or other news articles? This would answer my question of why would someone hang around for several hours into the daylight hours. It may be that they didn't.

That would make sense, but it seems like LE could identify the person who did the wellness check really quickly to see if that person drove a tan SUV. That they are following up on the lead makes it seem like they have not been able to write it off as the wellness check person. IDK.

I believe I read that she charged $400 for a visit. She was booked to or through December.

If she did 8 patients a day, that is $3200 a day. She probably saw more than 8 patients a day.

I would think with that kind of income, she could have afforded life insurance.

minus operating costs, but still, she is making quite a bit.

but life insurance (usually? correct me if i'm wrong?) doesn't pay out until things like this are resolved or the husband is cleared. maybe? i'm not sure, but i feel like i knew that from somewhere.

however is money in your pocket. who cares about life insurance when you want $$$$.

I don't think the husband started the page. I think his name is on it to show he's the beneficiary, not the woman who started it.

The page may be in poor taste so soon, but if they need money for a funeral (it doesn't say that), ya kinda have to get right on that. The person starting the page likely has no clue about fundraising etiquette, hence the $1,000,000 goal.

wasn't it lower to begin with? I can't remember ... but yeah, you're right that he did not start it

eta:

WAIT - I AM WRONG

others were right that it DOES list him as setting it up!

I didn't realize that off to the side there is different info than the friend/co-worker's little blurb

apologies!

yeah I agree but I think you quoted the wrong post lol

I've heard a lady friend set up one account & then hubby set up some others, IMO.
Perhaps someone can clarify?
Was one account set up for "legal costs" & the other for the girls' education?

oh I see - the only one I've seen was set up by a lady & all she said was that the $1 million was to compensate for what Dr. Sievers would've earned in her lifetime

So this friend sets up the account **immediately** and lists the hubby as the beneficiary and wants $1M as if it is a lawsuit for income-damages?
Wow!
Just wow!

Seriously, I hope they are ruling out this friend from involvement. It's just a bit much, iykwim?

but the 1 million didn't come at first, the 1m came after. wonder if the husband bumped it up once he found out about it.

Sievers failed to show up for work Monday morning, the Lee County Sheriff's Office said, prompting someone to check on her welfare. That individual, who has not been identified, found Sievers' body inside her home and called police at 9:45 a.m.

If this article is right it makes more sense.

well, depending on who the person was ... no one I work with has a key to my house but family members do

I agree, but I think it's one of two possibilities. IMO of course. If premeditated, in one of the earlier articles it said her routine was to get up at 5 AM. Maybe part of her routine was also to unman the alarm once up for the day, which is why if planned it took place at that time. The only problem I have with that scenario is the hammer if that turns out to be the weapon used. A hammer seems unplanned IMO, which brings me to the other possibility of her having someone there, I won't speculate on the who and why, but suffice it to say maybe someone there and an argument occurred leading to an attack. The door could then have been pried open after the fact to make it look like a random burglary scenario, which a random burglary scenario is the one possibility I just don't see it being

Maybe someone used the hammer to get in the house and murder her.

Even her practice page has a pitch for donations. Her masters program was in 2012. All of it hugely expensive and then she opens a solo practice with treatments not always covered by insurance or Medicare. It's baffling and I wonder if she sought out a financial adviser before doing all of this because it seems to be a sure way to a financial crisis.

What seems odd to me is she got a lot of this education later in life when she had 2 small children. I personally would have waited for the extra degrees until the girls were 18. Being an internist with hospital privileges would keep you plenty busy enough. She was missing their whole growing up years! So sad. Now they will never have her anymore.

I always thought that was what life insurance was for, especially if minor children are involved.

I've been following this case but this is my first post. I am not accusing, but something smells in this case.

Just wondering if anyone knows if the sister was married or in a relationship? Another theory could be that the sister was in an abusive relationship...they took her away with them on vacay...sister's boyfriend staking out the house trying to find her. Probably not the case but you never know. I'm kinda leaning towards secret boyfriend of the victim. :(

exactly - which is why people were questioning whether she had life ins. & then the discussion evolved into whether the business had insurance and if her student loans dissolve automatically with her death and if the husband is responsible for the house payments etc. etc.

BBM I am leaning that way too but I am guessing that the secret boyfriend had a wife. I think a woman would be more likely to use a hammer than a man would. I am guessing there were two perps involved. MOO

maybe she couldn't get a good-enough paying job without extra degrees? *SPECULATING*
