I've had Sharon Pinegar and this UID on my tentative possibles list for awhile, but was never too confident about it.

Her facial shape and placement of the facial features is spot-on . Her nose is spot-on (i.e., to the postmortem photo, not the recon). Her overall resemblance is OK, but not striking. It appears that she liked to change hairstyles.

Her vital stats are reasonably close. She is a couple of years over the upper age limit, her height is within an inch. The UID is not as heavy as her listed weight, but cocaine abuse (which was her cause of death) could explain the weight loss.

No mention of tattoos.

But her narrative says that she may have been headed for Florida after being last seen in Texas.

Sharon Kay Pinegar is my aunt I live in Ankeny Iowa I’m trying to find more information about her case.

I just got ahold of Wendy Crane of the Broward County Medical Examiner’s office. She says that the Jane Doe had "nearly" a “full mouth of teeth”, with no prosthetics. By "nearly", she said she was missing some wisdom teeth.

So if Sharon wore a denture (as her brother indicated), she would not be a match to this Jane Doe.

@shannon woltz welcome to Websleuths. Let us know if there are any questions you have about searches for your aunt. We are a pretty non-threatening bunch and here to help.

A white female was located behind a store on December 27, 1988, in Fort Lauderdale, Broward County, Florida. She had apparently died twelve hours before of a cocaine overdose, presumed to be accidental. The female had not died at the location, however, as her body was likely dumped by another individual. She was estimated to be between the ages of twenty-one and forty and had curly auburn hair and brown or gray-hazel eyes.[20] She was estimated to be at the height of five feet four inches (163 cm) tall and was about 108 pounds (49 kg). The woman had a distinct tattoo of a blue butterfly on her lower abdomen. She was clothed, except for shoes, as she was wearing jeans and a pink and white sweater. A ring and a watch were noted as jewelry.[21]
