NMB Police Name Person Of Interest In Woman’s 2007 Disappearance

North Miami Beach police detectives have named a person of interest in the disappearance of a 20 year old Miami woman exclusively to CBS4 News because their tips have reached a dead end.

Detective say they have been interested in Clifton Clayton Bogges for years, but are just now calling him a person of interest.

Sybil Chierico: "She got hooked up with the wrong people down in Homestead, and they weren't very nice people, and they used her cause she could be used. She was very gullible." Saying those people were not nice is a mild understatement.

North Miami Beach Police Capt. Richard Rand: "Some people that were into strip clubs, narcotics, possible prostitution, possible human trafficking. And we believe that Heather got involved in that"...

The man who could answer some questions, Clifton Boggess, decided to take off. He is now in Colorado. Sybil thinks that can be a good thing.

Sybil Chierico: "Well, that's what we're hoping with this interview, you know, that somebody, now that they know that Clifton is not there, that they'll talk about it."

Given the interest in Mr Boggess of Homestead Florida it seems reasonable to look for his weak point. He is now serving 6 years for his marijuana factory (see #6 above). I assume LE did not get anything from his accomplice in that case (Connie Sizemore). However it seems that there is a retarded member of the Boggess clan who may be worth pressurising, Charlie Boggess. See ICF Dumbest Criminal of the Week: Is That A Pen In Your Pocket?. Anyone this stupid may just let something slip if interviewed by LE.

Boggess has been arrested in connection with another case:

Denver7 Investigates has uncovered that Clifton Boggess, the suspect arrested this week in the death of 25-year-old Britani Meek from Yuma, has been linked to other cases involving women in Florida.

Law enforcement sources confirmed Boggess was named as a person of interest in 2007 in the case of another missing woman: Heather Riggio of Florida.

Details of Disappearance

Riggio disappeared from her uncle's home in the 1600 block of northeast 174th Street in North Miami Beach, Florida on May 6, 2007. She packed her belongings into a laundry basket and got into a white SUV driven Clifton Clayton Boggess Jr., whom she called her "sugar daddy."

Her friends stated they saw her in Homestead, Florida a week later; Boggess lived there. She has never been heard from again.

Boggess is considered a suspect in Riggio's disappearance. Although he was married, he had been dating Riggio in 2007 and she spent time with him at a hotel in Fort Lauderdale days prior to going missing. He previously served a five-year sentence in prison for kidnapping and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon; he shot a woman in the head in 1997 after she rejected his advances and refused to get into a car with him.

A photo of him is posted with this case summary. Authorities stated he hasn't been cooperative with them and refuses to be interviewed.

Riggio's mother died in a vehicular accident when she was twelve years old, and her father was not a part of her life, so she was raised by her grandmother. She frequented the Kendall, Homestead and Redlands areas of Florida at the time of her disappearance.

She is described as a troubled woman who had gotten mixed up with the wrong crowd; her new friends, according to police, were involved with drugs and possibly also prostitution and human trafficking. She is a former exotic dancer and, at the time of her disappearance, had a felony drug possession case pending against her.

Investigators think she is probably still in south Florida. They theorize she was either murdered or accidentally overdosed on drugs after she went missing. Her case remains unsolved.
