Monday, Dec. 11th:
*Pretrial Hearing (@ 9am ET) - FL - Jared Galen Bridegan (33), father of 4 ambushed & killed (shot 4 times), his 2-year-old daughter was just feet away in the back seat, Jacksonville Beach, Feb. 16, 2022. *Mario Enrique Fernandez Saldana (34/now 35) arrested (in Kissimmee, Orange County, 3/22/23) & charged & indicted (3/16/23) & arraigned (4/4/23) with 1st degree murder with a weapon, conspiracy to commit 1st degree murder, solicitation to commit a capital felony & child abuse. In Orange County jail waiting for transfer to Jacksonville in Duval County. Transferred to Duval County on 3/22/23. Held without bond. Plead not guilty. DA will seek the DP.
Trial set to begin on 4/13/24.

11/15/23 Docket update: State's Discovery exhibit & demand for reciprocal discovery. Notice of confidential information within court filing. Motion to disqualify the 4th Judicial Circuit Office of the State Attorney. 11/16/23 Update: Demand for specific discovery. 11/29/23 Update: State's response to defendant's motion to disqualify the 4th Judicial Circuit office of the State Attorney. 12/1/23 Update: Judge London Kite presiding. Asst. State attorney Christina Simak Stifler & 2 defense attorney Frank John Tassone, Jr. & defendant present in jail. Others present: Alan Mizrahi (ASA) & Jesse Driecer & James Hill (defendant) Motion to disqualify State attorney-some emails that are considered attorney client privilege but never accessed or read per State. Judge reviewed process of info that can remain private for the 1 document. But, there does appear to be one document in contention & the judge said she takes attorney/client privilege very seriously. The judge offered to have an independent circuit judge hear the arguments about that document which would shield even her from hearing privileged information. We will likely hear more about this in Fernandez's next court appearance on Dec. 11, 2023. Next pretrial hearing 12/11/23 @ 9am.
*Shanna Gardner Fernandez (36) – Pretrial hearing on 2/2/24.
*Henry Arthur Tenon (61/now 62) – Plead guilty (3/17/23) to 2nd degree murder & will testify against Saldana & Gardner. Status hearing on 2/5/24.

Mario Saldana motions hearing delayed. At issue are allegations the state was exposed to private communications and motion to replace the DA.

Delayed until 9 AM on Feb 2, 2024....given there's a defense Motion pending to dismiss the DA on the case, no surprise.
 
Neither Mario Fernandez nor Shanna Gardner appeared in court, but their lawyers say they need time to go over the latest emails given to them by the State Attorney's Office.

This latest hearing revolved around the issue of attorney-client privileged emails uploaded in discovery to a NextPoint site. The defense team for Mario Fernandez has previously made a motion to have the Fourth Judicial Circuit of the State Attorney's Office removed from the case over the issue. Late Friday, Shanna Gardner's defense team filed paperwork saying they would be joining that motion.

According to filings from the State Attorney's Office, it claims the uploading of the documents was done accidentally by a 3rd party vendor. The State says they notified the defense teams and disabled the platform NextPoint when the mistake was realized. They also claim they did not open or review the emails.

The defense teams will have until February 2nd to go over the material, that's when Fernandez and Gardner are due back in court. Both have pleaded not guilty.
 
If they keep having the same court appearances - I will go ahead & combine them together.

DA will seek the DP. Held without bail on Fugitive warrant (in Benton County, WA). Was extradited on 10/20/23 to Florida. Plead not guilty. No bond.
Trial set to begin on 4/13/24.

12/11/23 Update: Monday the defense said it needs more time to review the materials provided by the prosecution. The judge set pretrial hearing on 2/2/24 @ 9am.

*Status Hearing (@ 9am ET) - FL - Jared Galen Bridegan (33), father of 4 ambushed & killed (shot 4 times), his 2-year-old daughter was just feet away in the back seat, Jacksonville Beach, Feb. 16, 2022. *Henry Arthur Tenon (61/now 62) arrested (1/25/23) & charged (1/26/23) & arraigned (2/16/23) with conspiracy to commit murder in the 1st degree, 2nd degree murder with a weapon, accessory to the fact to a capital felony & child abuse. Plead not guilty. Held without bond (murder) & $1.5M (other counts).
In Tenon's court file "on or between 1/4/22 & 2/16/22, in the county of Duval & the State of Florida, did agree, conspire, combine or confederate with other human beings to, unlawfully & from a premeditated design, effect the death of Bridegan".
Trial was set to begin on 7/19/23 was cancelled, Tenon plead guilty (3/16/23) to 2nd degree murder. Sentencing hearing on 6/14/23 was vacated & rescheduled on 7/12/23 & was vacated.
2nd case ID #16-2022-CF-008168-AXXX-MA for Driving while license suspended or revoked-Felony & unlawful speed (requires speed). Hearings running concurrent with murder case.
