Tattoo - SW tattooed on his left upper arm roughly 2-3 inches tall and black lettering.

This is from a Pensacola newspaper in 1982. In the photo he is in a Navy uniform. Perhaps he was stationed at the Naval Air Station.

Jody Davis was wanted for driving on suspended license for a charge in 1985. I was told by a fb Florida missing group that the 1995 date means it was closed because of the statute of limitations. They claim he was arrested on November 9 and disappeared. I see nothing showing he was arrested Nov 9. The last image is his fathers obituary where it lists Jody as survivor but does not show a city. These images are from Pinellas County Clerk website
I was surprised to see this guy reported missing decades after the fact. I wonder why no one reported him missing before this. The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

No. He was allegedly arrested that day by Clearwater PD for the suspended license warrant. If this is true they probably had his car towed I would imagine.
I posted his missing info and his address at the time on a grew up in Clearwater group. Just before moderators deleted the post because it did not meet TOS an older woman told me her father lived right next door to this address and did in 1986 also. She was going to check if he knew anything but it was deleted. I didn't save her name. Shame

So it is interesting that the date for the divorce is judgement is 11/04/1986. This is 5 days before he went missing. HRS is called DCF now. CPS would be child protective services and would be through Pinellas Sheriffs Office investigators. Jody Davis is listed on this page as grantee his ex wife and HRS as the grantor. The date is 10/13/87 almost a year after he went missing. I would guess this was from some proceeding where the state and the now ex wife had some case against him that they dropped and closed. Im guessing child support from the divorce. It's interesting in the fact that they knew he was not coming back and would not be paying child support. It would have taken some time to get on the docket. Child support cases moved slow back then. Why were they so sure he wouldn't be back or just hiding out like a dead beat dad.

Sorry, I should have clarified, these are both in Escambia County, where he was married in 1982. I started searching on Ancestry last night.
Jody was born in 1960
He attended High School in Des Moines, Iowa in 1977
in 1978 he moved during the school year to Pensacola, FL, where he continued High School
On January 17, 1982 he was married in Escambia County, Florida
On July 21, 1986 he was divorced in Escambia County, Florida
