Miramar police: Little boy found wandering still not identified

MIRAMAR, Fla. – Miramar police were alerted Sunday morning about a small boy found alone near the 1860 block of SW 68th Ave.

Lori Rodriguez ‚who helped search for the boy’s parents, told Local 10 that a neighbor had seen the child wandering and had been asking around to see if anyone knew anything about him.

From the video, the boy doesn't look malnourished or sickly, which is a relief. He looks rather friendly and eager for attention as he follows that police officer around closely. Poor baby! Child neglect most likely? Otherwise I would think the parents or guardians would have alerted authorities about him being missing! He looks like a really sweet little boy. I hope he finds a good home and they find out what the heck happened to him and whoever is responsible is held accountable!!

My worry would be that there is a parent or guardian that has passed and he got out and is too little to understand or verbalized.

Quite! Or how can nobody know who he is at all? Surely a friend/neighbour/relative/work colleague of the parent(s) must know who he is!

(2/2) His family has NOT been located. Officers spent hours canvassing the area, knocking on doors, speaking w/ neighbors. No one recognizes the child, who appears to be 2-3 years old. As the investigation continues, we urge anyone with info. on his identity to call 954-602-4000.

This is madness, how can nobody know who he is?!
Any missing children who match his description? Probably a long shot though as whoever he was missing from would no doubt recognise him? Unless he's been missing since he was very tiny maybe?

Is the area usually quite busy on a Sunday? Is there a nearby church where the boy might have been dropped off, any casinos?

Looks like the location is close to the Turnpike or Freeway.
Maybe he wandered from a nearby Motel and the parent is sleeping.
If they’re traveling, no one in the neighborhood would recognize the child.
Could be Drugs involved. Maybe the parent OD’ed.

I wonder if it's parents on drugs sleeping it off. He doesn't look well kept. While curls can be messy, his do not look tended to. He does seem like a handful and could've wakened and got out while parents are sleeping.
