I remembered reading about this many years ago. I wonder if Lonzie didn't have a bone fracture after all?

(BBM)

Mastoiditis is an infection of the mastoid bone of the skull located right behind the ear.
Mastoiditis is most often caused by a middle ear infection (acute otitis media). The infection may spread from the ear to the mastoid bone. The bone has a honeycomb-like structure that fills with infected material and may break down.
The condition is most common in children. Before antibiotics, mastoiditis was one of the leading causes of death in children. The condition does not occur very often today. It is also much less dangerous.
Symptoms include:
Drainage from the ear
Ear pain or discomfort
Fever, may be high or suddenly increase
Headache
Hearing loss
Redness of the ear or behind the ear
Swelling behind ear, may cause ear to stick out

I'm not saying Lonzie died from it, but it's possible. It could possibly explain his symptoms, including what may have appeared to be bruising behind his ear. It would definitely make him very ill and cranky and could have led to someone losing their temper with him.

Think about this, LLB bought fever reducer. Our little blue eyed baby was sick. If she would have taken Lonzie to ER, he would be here today. If she would have been a mother and did what she was required by law to do, provide medical care for her child! Please don't anyone think I'm giving RE a break. I just wouldn't expect him to provide for this little man, he is a drug dealer. They are BOTH guilty of neglecting Lonzie to the point of his death..or causing it. Both of them!

My mistake, LLB bought eye drops and fever reducer from the dollar store. *Still watching*

Many a sleepless night has been shared by us around the world over this case, I have no doubt. I cannot stop myself from asking myself the same questions that are being posed here, and likely offline.

"What if....."
"Why didn't...."
"If only...."

IMO, one doesn't have to be a parent to seriously question the decisions / (in)actions taken in the (?days and?) hours leading up to Lonzie becoming a #ForeverAngel. I've said this far too many times, our children should not have to suffer in order to gain their tiny little angel wings.

It should only require basic compassion and common sense, the want and need to protect a child - any child - from suffering or harm.

You see, for each of the scenarios above, one could add the word "they."

"What if they.....?"
"Why didn't they....?"
"If only they...."

The preventability of all of this can not be overstated. Lonzie had no voice until it was too late. :tears:

There's no silencing his cries, our cries, now.

It is a cry for justice.

:twocents:

JMOO but I'm not buying any sort of accidental death theory. I don't doubt that Lonzie was sick but if he died from an untreated illness I'd be surprised if he just quietly went to sleep and didn't wake up. From the descriptions given by flourish and Kari'sMom it sure seems like he would have been in great pain and likely crying for much of the night. Enough time for Ebron to call 911 or take him to a hospital.

So why would Ebron just ignore Lonzie, let him expire and then irrationally decide to dump him in some disgusting area twenty minutes south of the apartment? Even more telling is that LE quickly found the video showing that no abduction took place. Once Ebron realized his story was unraveling his best option would have been to confess that Lonzie died accidentally and he panicked. At that point LE could have recovered Lonzie and verified his claim. A charge of child neglect or even manslaughter is better than murder one. Instead he stopped cooperating with LE.

IMO if Ebron hid Lonzie's body it was because he did something that needed to be hidden. I don't recall ever reading a case where a true accident occurred and a caregiver chose to hide the child's body and report him/her as missing. Delano Wilson, Hiawayi Robinson, Colton Turner, Tristan Blue, Ellorah Warner, Malik Drummond, to name a few - all reported missing but murdered by a caregiver. Why would Ebron be any different?

I get the impression that some her actually buy into the ear infection theory....in the interview the detective clear indicated that the symptoms including drainage...bruise etc. is a skull fracture. LB knows what happened and so does Brittany

I'm not sure what you mean by "buy into the ear infection theory." What's the theory? I don't think Lonzie died from an ear infection or complications from an ear infection. I'm guessing he may have had an ear infection in the days prior to his death, and that may have been the cause of the ear drainage. It certainly wouldn't be the cause of a skull fracture or bruising.

I used to think Lonna's complicity involved her recognizing/knowing that RE had hurt Lonzie but went to work anyway, knowing either outwardly or not, that RE was going to "disappear" Lonzie that night or do something to him to attempt to make it look like he had an accident to "cover up" the prior injuries. And also that she was generally a poor excuse for a mother what with the drugs and promescuity and what-not.

Now I'm thinking the final injuries to Lonzie occurred prior to her going to work, and I'm also not sure who I think inflicted them or if it was both of them...

you would be shocked what dollar store has. I bought and ovulation prediction there once.

they probably do have otc ear drops, maybe the kind for wax build up.

watched most of those disgusting interviews and yes dollar store where I doubt you can get ear meds. i got the impression that Brittany had the drops and just gave them to her bff. LB said they got "fettucini alfreado" at the store and the detectives asked if a child in that condition which make you vomit was really eating that crap...and she said "well a few bits". Even as her child is in a very serious condition she is more concerned about getting something she wanted to eat. This child should have been in protective services and I blame every one that saw him living there that did not at least try to help and they will be standing there tonight with candles.

I'm not buying an accidental death either because of the reason you outline MsMarple. I think WRE lost his temper and killed Lonzie.

But, what if.... Lonzie's "injury" could really have been Mastoiditis?

If Lonzie died of that, WRE could have thought Lonzie died of a head injury and that he'd be blamed because he was the last person with Lonzie. Especially because he has a history of domestic violence and he and LB had fought that day about the bruises behind Lonzie's ear.

They said Lonzie had yellow drainage coming from his ear... Google pics of mastoiditis and look at how much those pics match the description WRE gave of Lonzie's head injury. I do think it's possible he had it. Someone who has never heard of mastoiditis might think those pics look like head injuries.

Just to be clear, I don't think Lonzie had mastoiditis, but there's a very small possibility that he did and it was mistaken for abuse, and these two people neglected to get him medical help because they thought they would be accused of abusing Lonzie.

Either way, he died because of these two addicts were too high and paranoid and selfish to think of anyone else but themselves and their drugs. I think WRE lost his temper and killed Lonzie. I don't know what to think of LB's involvement yet, I"m still on the fence with that.

this is true especially since he had a neglectful mother that prob did not seek treatment, he could have had this ear infection for quite awhile.

I'm wondering if when Britt took LB to the store, she actually touched Lonzie? Was he hot to the touch like he would be with a high fever? Was he crying? or was he lethargic? Did she try to soothe him to give LB a break? Or did Britt say something like "Lonzie doesn't look good", and LB just responded that he had an ear infection, while knowing he was injured? and Britt just said ok, see ya later...

Also, does anyone know why Britt moved away?

I would guess for exotic dancing or possibly worse.
