Paul Gregory Egan - #MP20414
Missing From: Plantation, FL (approx. a 1-hour drive from Palm Beach County)
Missing Age: 18
DLC: July 21, 1975
Height: 5'10" (70 inches)
Circumstances: Egan was last seen in Plantation, Florida on July 21, 1975. He disappeared in the early morning hours after working a shift at the Florida Processing Company in the 6900 block of northwest 69th Street. His best friend and coworker, Norman Paul Ruebottom, who was addressed by his middle name, stated they left together and Egan did arrive at his home in the 5800 block of Cypress Road, and that his Jeep was found in the garage with his wallet inside it, and the ignition keys were on his dresser in the bedroom.

Police have been unable to prove this. Ruebottom found the Jeep and the keys himself and drove the vehicle around for several hours before going to the police station to report Egan missing. Egan's brother, who lived with him, didn't wake up during the night or hear anything unusual.

Police looked into the possibility that he fell or was pushed into one of the rendering machines at the processing company, which grind up the bodies of horses for use in soap, fertilizer and cat food. They inspected the machinery and found no evidence of human tissue there. However, they noted that due to the nature of the machines, any evidence of foul play might have been obliterated.

New addition to NamUs. This John Dor was found an hour away from Fort Lauderdale. Could it be him? The height matches.

This John Doe's NamUs profile is currently down. They had it modified earlier this morning with just two rule outs, I looked again, and it disappeared. I sent a possible match to the Palm County Sheriff's office back in May so I still had the NamUs link. This is what I get. Hopefully he has finally been identified.

Identified by @othram as Joseph W. Newman of Toms River, New Jersey.

Joseph was last seen alive in the spring of 1983. He was known to reside in the Bal Harbour, Miami Dade, and Kendall County areas of Florida. Police are looking for an associate of Joseph only known as Jamie. Jamie is a Black male, muscular, of average height, and was in his mid-30's at the time of Joseph's disappearance.

Palm Beach County John Doe (1984) is now Identified

Screenshot 2024-07-09 at 10-01-19 Palm Beach County John Doe (1984) is now Identified.png

Thank you Othram and all others involved. Sincere condolences to Joseph's family.

Thinking about his associate Jamie. Big chance his name is James. Being mid-thirties at the time (approx. 1983-1984) he must be born approx. 1948 and is now approx.76. Yehh, who could he be....it's a tough one. You don't want a witch hunt for any black American guy named Jamie or James, from f.i. Florida or New Jersey or anywhere else.
