Has there been any update on this case?

Forty years have passed since Margaret's disappearance.

I thought that I would let everyone know that her Mother is in ICU and not expected to make it for very much longer. My Mother in Law has been told to call in the family to say their goodbyes. Granny Barefoot has pneumonia with fluid filling up both lungs, severely anemic, with her stats very low (in the 70's & 80's). This is all that I can remember at this time, when I know more I will pass it along.

Two days short of the 44th anniversary of the murder of Margaret...........her only sister passed. R.I.P. Delores.

Motherof3....... sorry about the loss of your Mother in law.

Richard,

A detective came to my home at my request several years ago. I wanted to know if the PCSO could close the case since they knew Margaret was murdered by her husband. He said it was not unheard of.........but it was extremely rare.........that a case was closed posthumously. He said that he would make a power point presentation and go before the Grand Jury. On September 29th, 2011 I received a phone call at my job telling me that the Grand Judy indicted Leathern Earl Cook in the murder of Mary Margaret Cook. That day would have been their 49th wedding anniversary. How Ironic......... He told me to keep it to myself because a few of Earls relatives had one year to try to have it overturned. That time has passed........so in one respect justice has been achieved for Margaret.

Margaret is still listed as missing so any remains found in that area are and will be cross matched with her DNA. Her sons are her next of kin.........we will always keep searching.....

Thank you so much for the update. How bittersweet for her sons to be a step closer to answers but with their father the presumed killer.
