I’m wondering if the mother is manipulating the daughter in an effort to get out of jail.
Hmmmm
Oh, absolutely, 100%, IMO.
The husband was shot in the back of his head.
Even though the husband had been buried for quite some time, would it still be possible to test for gun shot residue to see if the shot was fired from close range?

Summing up the wildest parts, in 2015 she told everyone her husband up and left her for another woman, impersonated him on text messages and social media. Husband’s friend reported the disappearance to the police after a few years and noticing that wife built a concrete fire pit in the back yard. Sure enough, once police got a warrant the husbands body was buried on the property.

He went missing in 2015. Police started investigating in 2018. Wife was arrested in 2020. In May 2023, the claim of the daughter being responsible happened.

Florida woman charged with murdering her husband is claiming that it was the couple's 7-year-old daughter who fatally shot the Disney World worker according to a motion filed by prosecutors
That second link just seems to lead to the front page of IE, for me.

This might be better?

A judge ruled that the defense team for Laurie Shaver cannot share details from a police report she filed against her husband at trial. However, they can introduce a petition for a restraining order filed by LS and her petition to terminate that order a short time later.

The trial is set to start in September.

The trial is expected to be a complicated one.

Shaver’s daughter is expected to testify.

Prosecutors said they expect it will take a week to get through all their witnesses.

@cathyrusson

Thirty-seven-year-old #LaurieShaver was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in 2020 after her husband, Michael Shaver, had been missing since 2015. His body was discovered buried beneath a concrete slab in Laurie Shaver’s backyard. In a shocking twist, the couple’s daughter confessed to the crime, claiming she shot her father (when she was 7 years old) to protect her mother, who allegedly said he was abusing her at the time.

Has anything said what the angle of entry was for the bullet? If a child shot him, the angle of entry might be different than if an adult had shot him. Also, now that Jay is mentioned as a possibility, how does he compare in height to Laurie? Would that have affected the angle of entry?

(Mostly musing. I think LS did it.)
