From CARIIS-- Here are his internet searches
https://www.scribd.com/document/3322...search-history

Thanks for more, CARIIS. It's amazing how much comes out in discovery in Florida with it's Sunshine Laws. Reading his journal entries was interesting, but looking at his internet searches is a view from a whole 'nother angle. I don't know, almost too much info at once.

I just need to get out of his cluttered head and try to get some restful sleep...........:offtobed:

I was confused when I fist looking it at then I scrolled down and realized that the top part were ramblings of mind gone awry.

The searches were interesting. There is IMO no way this person had not bizarre for quite some time.

Sounds as if he had never sex, talks about having no friends, no relationship, etc etc

That's isolation, that's mental illness imo

Arrest report - gives more detail about what went on that night

Anyone know anymore about this stuff weird

Prosecutors filed Sunday a demand for Harrouff’s alibi for 9:30 p.m. Aug. 15, showing he wasn't at 19010 Kokomo Lane, where's he's accused of killing two people

I got the link from CARIIS on post # 856, so the thanks should go to her. But thank you for thanking me too.

al66pine, glad you took a look at his journal. I do think those pages 111-113 might be lyrics for or from a song. That section was harder for me to make out all the words though. Red dress made me think song

Did you see the four people, one with no face on page 115? I didn't know if that signified people of the world, or his family, or him and some friends. .... Just my own thoughts and opinions.

^sbm. "four people, one with no face on page 115"
(Bates page # 001754 at https://www.scribd.com/document/3321...rouff-Journals)

IDK what that signifies or suggests. Seems the four ppl have their arms outstretched to hold ea others' hands.
Like you say - world unity? family? friends? Is the blank face his? No more analysis on this for me but interesting to see other sleuther's thoughts.
As usu, JM2cts.

I'm not finding anything that says he wasn't there, but I did notice mention that his sister moved his car that night and his wallet and cell phone were in the car.

What I find interesting is his father said AH stated to him about being "part animal", and that he was doing some weed and mushrooms recently.

MOO, many people are reclusive or isolated and aren't mentally ill. It's true he might've felt avoided, alone, or isolated lately, but he did have friends and lots of people around him in his life. Some of those people were bewildered and getting uneasy by his recent behaviors. I don't know why they were fearfully living behind locked doors and not able to get him professional help. I don't know if one of his friends supplied him with mushrooms, but it seems like the wrong thing to do if he already thought he was part animal.

Austin Harrouff internet searches: ‘I think I’m going crazy, am I?’

http://www.mypalmbeachpost.com/news/news/austin-harrouff-internet-searches-i-think-im-going/ntFbq/

“Must I sleep?”“I think I’m going crazy, am I?”
“What am I?”
These are some of the questions among dozens of other searches, ranging from Satan to murderers, the Jupiter resident entered into a search toolbar with his phone before attacking John Stevens, 59, and Michelle Mishcon, 53, and a neighbor who tried to intervene on Aug. 15, according to court documents recently released by the 19th Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office. Harrouff, who remains in the medical wing of the Martin County jail without bail, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder.

On the day of the fatal stabbings, Harrouff searched about centaurs, a mythical half-human, half-horse figure. “What’s the weakest thing about a centaur” and “what’s the biggest help to a centaur,” he asked Google. Harrouff’s sister told investigators her brother recently expressed he had “powers,” was immoral and was half-horse, like a centaur.
“He made me uneasy because he was being a different person,” Harrouff’s sister told investigators.

Why didn't someone call 911? Austin himself, his sister or dad?

ETA:
Harrouff’s sister detailed to investigators how she was “uneasy” about her brother to the point where she was locking her bedroom door at night.

At first when I started reading about this case, I was sure AH was using bath salts etc. Now I am leaning towards he is truly mentally ill but not legally insane. Especially since he reportedly said "Kill me, I deserve it. " IMO he knew what he did was wrong but perhaps unable to stop it, maybe voices telling him too or what not.

This whole thing is so so terribly sad. For so many people.
I have read some of the stuff, need to sleep. At this point I am in agreement with LostOldUserName (love that name LOL)... I think hes mentally ill...but insane, I can't buy it yet. As I said earlier, I hope the State has good doctors on retainer. We need a TRUE diagnosis, as to whether he is insane or not.
As someone stated earlier, the damage is done. IF someone would have just gotten help...I know you can't force a person but this apparently went on a LONG while. Surely someone could have and maybe we MIGHT not be here discussing this particular one.

775.027 Insanity defense.—(1) AFFIRMATIVE DEFENSE.—All persons are presumed to be sane. It is an affirmative defense to a criminal prosecution that, at the time of the commission of the acts constituting the offense, the defendant was insane. Insanity is established when

a) The defendant had a mental infirmity, disease, or defect; and
(b) Because of this condition, the defendant:
1. Did not know what he or she was doing or its consequences; or
2. Although the defendant knew what he or she was doing and its consequences, the defendant did not know that what he or she was doing was wrong.
Mental infirmity, disease, or defect does not constitute a defense of insanity except as provided in this subsection.

(2) BURDEN OF PROOF.—The defendant has the burden of proving the defense of insanity by clear and convincing evidence.

***********

IANAL, but based on Florida law I don't think he will prevail with an insanity defense. His own statements will preclude it (asking the officer to kill him because he deserved it).

I'm not surprised that the toxicology report found nothing noteworthy. I've followed a few other cases like this where the press had a field day speculating about exotic new drugs that turn people into cannibals or zombies, but they always turned out to be plain old mental illness :(

I just found something new to me, and it was something I did not want to hear. Bad enough I will refrain from quoting it.

Warning, link refers to the victim being alive when LE arrived.

Hi from yur link

He said Harrouff and Stevens were on the ground and Harrouff held Stevens in a “bear hug” from behind.

His sister told investigators she locked her bedroom door at night because he made her “uneasy.” IMO that's telling.

The friend told investigators Harrouff came back and they went to the beach with some more friends and Harrouff’s sister. At the beach, Harrouff wore sunglasses, two watches, a Michael Vick jersey and sweatpants. Harrouff’s sister said he felt safe in those clothes, but his fraternity brothers called him out for looking strange, according to the documents released.

When Harrouff’s sister, the childhood friend and their father were out to dinner at Duffy’s soon before the attacks, they said Harrouff left the restaurant without saying anything. When he returned, Harrouff’s father was upset but the 19-year-old just laughed, Harrouff’s sister said. After his father grabbed him by the collar and threatened to take his cross, that’s when Harrouff got aggressive and pinned his father to the booth before leaving without saying a word, she said.

Bear hug from front first. Then from behind after they had him off the first time. [Sitting on my fingers.]

From the link above, father told sister they needed to Baker Act AH
