Wait, what? She hasn't been convicted yet? :dramaqueen:

Blast from the past! I lost track of this case (I was gone for a while). Looks like I get here just in time. :skip:

ETA: Ahhhh...overturned on appeal. SMH

Oh, I just can't wait for the actual trial to begin! Dalia has spent years on release pending her appeal. IIRC, it was home detention with Mom. Well, it was the last time I heard, anyway.

If she's convicted again and gets the same sentence, she will have just postponed the original sentence and will be that many years older when she gets out...

Again, IIRC, John Goodman asked for a sentence reduction based on his time on house arrest, and the judge denied the motion.

I'm now watching jury selection. I'm just back from a long trip and seriously behind on my e-mail... perfect!

[emoji105] Umm wow. [emoji105]

I just watched it CM. There is something about this judge I like already.

Some people prefer postponing the inevitable and yes she will be much older. I am guessing she is a short-term thinker not a long-term planner.

Dalia Dippolito jury selection will continue Monday morning because so many in pool heard of case or have personal hardships with serving.

Real bummer the jury won't hear about Dalia previously trying to poison Michael or get to see the staged crime scene video...#daliadippolito

Lots of prospective Dalia Dippolito jurors knew case details, excused (with clip)

"...Circuit Judge Glenn Kelley had hoped to finish electing a jury by Friday from 200 prospective panelists, but scrapped those plans within a couple of hours Thursday after more than half of an initial pool of 100 raised their hands when he asked whether they had already heard about Dippolito’s case...

Jury selection will continue Friday and is expected to wrap Monday, when Assistant State Attorneys Craig Williams and Laura Burkhart Laurie and Claypool and Rosenfeld will get a chance to further question jurors who make it past this week.

The trial could begin as early as Tuesday. Earlier this year, Dippolito said she would take the stand in her own defense, something she hadn’t done during her first trial in 2011..."

Testifying herself may cook the narcissist's own goose. She's such a good actress, NOT!

I keep seeing Felon Jodi Arias in Dalia D....they know it all....I do not like Black Widows at all.

Let us hope jury selection DOES finish Monday and the trial DOES begin Tuesday.

Dalia Dippolito wants to move murder-for-hire trial over juror bias concerns

"Before the second day of jury selection for Dalia Dippolito's retrial, her attorneys on Friday said they want to move the 2009 murder-for-hire case out of Palm Beach County because of concerns the jury pool is too biased.

Finding jurors who have not heard about Dippolito proved to be difficult, as well over half of the 196 prospective jurors said they know Dippolito is accused of trying to have her husband killed.

By the end of the day Friday, only 70 potential jurors were left in the pool to be questioned Monday by the prosecutors and defense attorneys about their ability to be fair and impartial.

Palm Beach County Circuit Judge Glenn Kelley said he will rule on the defense's change-of-venue request after the defense files it in writing.

"We are asking jurors to be brought in from other counties, similar to what was done in the Casey Anthony case," attorney Brian Claypool told reporters, adding that didn't request it earlier because he wanted to give jury selection a chance in Palm Beach County...."

This is a old one I had forgotten about, It's good to follow a trial where she deserves a long time behind bars, however knowing the "victim" is alive n well.

Ah, but he was a victim- of an attempted murder plot. If the supposed hitman wasn't an undercover cop, he might have been murdered. I can't imagine having your spouse wanting to have you murdered.

On pins and needles about what might happen Monday re the change of venue filing

I listened to some of the states questions to jurors and was disappointed....I am sure he was trying to put them at ease, however some of the comments in the beginning were off to me. Also, never heard questions such as, by row, asking, who wants to be here for this trial, who does not want to be here for this trial...then joking....to me joking can confuse people at times when they should be serious. Also one member has a hearing issue, this makes it harder for them... As for those questions....not sure what was he was trying to get out of the jurors. No one really wants to be on a murder jury....who wants to see the gory details. I will watch more later, but so far not impressed with any counsel. JMO

And back to the person with hearing issue....from my own experience....professionals, such as lawyers should have to take etiquette classes on how to act around people with disabilities. They would beable to get more out if a disabled person if they would learn to look at the jurors when talking, not walking around with their back to jurors, not cover their mouth with their hands when they talk, talk clear not exaggerating the words, do not make funny remarks because the person is focused on understanding the situation, not on a comedy show....and I know this would be hard, but the men with beards....it is hard for someone to read a bearded persons lips.....so maybe extra caution could be used to make sure the juror understands. Not always having an extra hearing device helps....like headphones....sometimes that makes it worse. An interpeter IF the person knows sign is possible.

Okay I am off my rant...feed the pups and find a video of this afternoon.
