Wow .... how more "Final" can you get? She had 2 "final" write-ups in her file before all this happened. She should have NEVER been on this case in the first place. :banghead:

Final is very confusing in the world of child welfare.

So for at least a year these two "unusual" people get to sit in jail, 3 hots and a cot PLUS air conditioning on my taxpayer dollar.

I really tired of the wheels of justice turning soooooooooooooooooo slow.

:furious:

All i can say is DITTO!!!!

I say others need to be charged.
Check out this case & tell me if you think the same charges could be applied to the Barahona case.

A former New York City child welfare worker and his supervisor were indicted on charges of criminally negligent homicide, the Brooklyn district attorney announced on Wednesday, saying that their failures had contributed to the death of a 4-year-old, Marchella Pierce, who had been repeatedly beaten and tied to a bed and weighed 18 pounds at the end of her life in September.
It was believed to be the first time in the city’s history that child welfare workers had been charged with homicide in a child’s death, and the district attorney, Charles J. Hynes, made it clear that he did not believe they were the only ones to blame.

Miami-Dade’s 5-year-old privately run child welfare agency is paid $100 million each year to protect thousands of abused and neglected children. But in recent months, it has been forced to defend itself.

Last summer, several children’s advocates became incensed when Our Kids, a private contractor that oversees foster care and adoption in Miami-Dade and Monroe, paid more than $330,000 in employee bonuses – some totaling five figures – at the same time it cut the stipend given to newly aged-out foster kids by $300.

Adoption bonuses ?
The federal gov't pays the states adoption bonuses for every child adopted out of state care. I think it's $8000 but I'll have to check.
Children are a commodity, and let's not forget that if they are given back or taken from the adoptive parents they can be re-adopted like Jermaine McNeil who was adopted and returned then adopted again by his own mother before his body was found stuffed in a suitcase and thrown in the Del Ray Beach canal.

YES! THERE WILL BE JUSTICE FOR NUBIA AND V.

And they aren't going to waste any time either.

Set for trial July 18, 2011.

www.wsvn.com will have a video report up soon - the noon news had some good footage of these two in the courtroom.

She is stone cold, not a flinch when the state said they would seek death. He sat there looking sad for himself!! What a couple of unusual persons. I hope this trial starts as scheduled and they both end up on death row this year!

RIP precious Nubia.

Get well and have a great life away from these two V!

Not even a little...

The former case worker said her termination should not have been based on one case. "This is one case that blew up, but it's many more cases where I have saved kids, and the department didn't stand behind me and say, 'Yes, this here was a mess up, a mishap, but look at all the other kids, all the other parents who appreciate what I have done for their families,'" said Fleary.

Yes - when a child is found dead after long term abuse that is a deal breaker! WTH is wrong with her! Perhaps this was a mess up, a mishap? This was a mess up of epic proportions and Fleary should be facing charges too!

Besides, this was not her first FINAL warning!!!

Mention of the twins in here.
Kinda sounds like they are saying the bahronahs wouldn't have done what they did if they had more support, but maybe i'm reading too much into it..

Maybe if someone who was supposed to be supporting the twins had really listened to what they were saying - the Barahona's would never have had the chance to cause the death and torture.

I have no sympathy for these people, they fought hard and won when trying to adopt - something I will never understand since there was a wonderful, loving home (with their family) waiting for them in TX. Then they abused the children, the same way they abused the system...
