Gerald Lombard Was Likely A Victim In The 'Hog Trail Murders'
On February 1, 1994, two hunters in Punta Gorda, FL, stumbled upon the remains of an unidentified man with rope marks on his skin. He was finally identified in 2021 as 27-year-old Gerald "Jerry" Lombardafter a niece submitted a DNA sample to a genealogy website. Lombard was one of 17 children and had not been seen by his family since at least 1992.
Lombard is believed to be one of the victims in the "Hog Trail Murders" committed by Daniel Conahan Jr., who murdered all of his victims within a 10-mile radius of his home and was eventually sentenced to death in 1999 for one of the murders.
