The bill that would impose tighter requirements for law enforcement agencies using confidential informants cleared a Senate committee Monday, but not without a few tweaks.

The bill requires law enforcement agencies to adopt policies and procedures that provide reasonable protective measures when it comes to the risks facing confidential informants. It also says guidelines for management, safety and training of CIs should be adopted.
