Efrain Ibarra-Barcenas (44) his body was found in a burning field in Ruskin. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said on Saturday, April 15, 2023, just shortly after 8 a.m., a concerned caller told dispatch they drove past what they believed was a mannequin on fire in an open field behind a residential area on Will Scarlett Avenue in Ruskin. Fire Rescue responded to the scene to extinguish the flames & discovered that the mannequin was actually a dead body. The sheriff's office said the victim was found with upper body trauma & due to the severity of the burns, it cannot be identified. Was id’ed as Efrain.
*Christian Segura-Alvarez (20) arrested (4/21/23) &
charged (4/22/23) with 2nd degree felony murder with gun & tampering with physical evidence relating to a capital felony in connection with the crime. $600K bond.

*Antonio Juan Carlos Almraz-Barbosa (26) arrested (5/22/23 in Houston, TX) &
charged (5/12/23) with 2nd degree murder, 2nd degree abuse of a human body, 3rd degree tampering with physical evidence & 3rd degree grand theft of a motor vehicle. Awaiting extradition from Houston to Hillsborough County, FL. Extradited & booked 6/20/23. $510K Bond. Plead not guilty.
5/18/23 Update: The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said Carlos Almraz-Barbosa, 26, was found & taken into custody by the US Marshal's Service in Houston, Texas. He's now awaiting extradition back to Hillsborough County. Almraz-Barbosa will face multiple charges, which include second degree murder, abuse of a human body, tampering with physical evidence & grand theft of a motor vehicle, deputies said. 6/20/23 Update: Was extradited from Houston & booked in Hillsborough County jail on 6/20/23.
7/6/23 Update: Notice appearance/demand of discovery by defense. Notice of defendant's invocation of constitutional rights. Written plea of not guilty for all charged entered. Next disposition virtual hearing on 9/5/23 @ 1:30pm via Zoom.
