IMO perhaps she deliberately kept it thinking it would exonerate her? As she kept contesting with investigators that it wasn’t ‘intentional’. (And if IIRC SB might even have mentioned similarly to the on scene officer in the parking lot?) One thing it seems that has been demonstrated by SB, she is in her mind the smartest person in the room. Or on the planet for that matter. SMH
But in my mind investigators should have asked SB in that interview, what did SB mean by that? What wasn’t intentional? I don’t believe that was asked. And it would have been interesting to see what word salad that elicited.
I hope that we do learn exactly where that video was found. And whether there were attempts to delete it or to move it or store it elsewhere. And as I type this, were there actually two videos or am I confusing something else? MOO
There were two videos. Both showed basically the same thing, and both had Sarah responding to Jorge as he called for help from the suitcase. IIRC, one was slightly shorter than the other and one had the suitcase in a slightly different position than the other.
I too wish the detectives had pressed on her harder when questioning her about it not being intentional. Interestingly, some of the portions of the two hour interrogation that the defense is asking be excluded from the trial (motion in limine, filed 10/6/24) touch on that:
page 53, line 11, Detective CK, “Well he’s dead as a result of your actions.”
line 13, Detective CK, “He’s dead as a result of your actions.”
line 14, SB, “I understand that.”
page 55, line 24, Detective SL, “I, I, I have one last question, I just, I mean you real, you realize you’re the person that killed him right?”
page 56, line 1, SB, “I thought about that.”
page 92, line 15, Detective SL, “Well, intention or not, Jorge is dead. You act like, when you say unintentionally that absolves you from everything.”
