The Gano house fire happened at the beginning of Summer. I'd think that would be big news in that neighborhood, and kids would be curious, wanting to see what it looks like inside the house etc. I'd guess a number of kids would have gone by over the summer. IIRC, "the" construction brother last worked there over the summer. I wonder if they talked about treehouses. I wonder if Somer continued to meet with him to talk about HER treehouse.

Maybe Somer saw the work truck that Monday on 1080 and went into the house thinking it was "the" treehouse builder, but it wasn't, it was Kyle. She got soot on her. Did the rso construction guy know when Kyle left 1080? Did this rso guy do work for the Magic lawn co. next door?
Was Somer by the tanks on the side road because she was waiting for "him"..maybe wasting some time to wait for the other kids to pass by before meeting up with him?

Did she have a frown on her face because her treehouse dude wasn't there?

Just a possible scenario.

1) Since you have talked to her as recently as last summer have you tried to contact her now during this time of trouble? and if not why

2) If she becomes a person of interest would you be willing to be a character reference for her ?

Somer went missing on a Monday, and I think I found out early on Wednesday or Thursday that she was missing....I believe it was the same day they found a body in GA. I tried to call but all I kept getting was a full mail box. I sent a spray of flowers to the funeral home, and arranged for single white roses for the family and Sam to hold at the grave site, to lay on the casket before burial.....don't know it they got those for sure.

I am one of her friends on Myspace, but she hasn't been on since 10-24-09. But I wouldn't contact her that way through this ordeal, thats just tacky and tasteless.

If she became a person of interest....wow...my feelings are strong about this...I DO NOT believe she had anything to do with Somers murder. If she did I would die of shock. I know she has been judged harshly, but I also firmly believe that she wouldn't harm her own children ever---regardless of her questionable parenting skills. In two years that I lived near the family, I never saw anything that would lead me to believe that she was capable of intentionally hurting those kids.

He's at the sex offender registry and is only 5'2" but who knows and he's 27 looks like a boy because he's so small. Lives in Iowa but who knows if he could be here for friends.

I am just sickened by Shaiya's death. Her poor Father and Aunt who looked like they cared for her so well. He must be sick about giving that so called Mother a chance to be one. I hope NC has the Death Penalty and that she and the murderer will Fry. Imagine a mother that would give her child to a prostitution ring. Its all about the love of drugsand nothing else matters.

Weird, He is in the Fl. system now, however a 2003 sexual offense took place in Iowa.

I think it says he's in Iowa now but who knows if he moved to Florida after the assault and he's been assaulting all along. Maybe he's been going state by state killing little girls. :furious: Can you say serial killer??? BTW, he's a truck driver.

I think this is a very illuminating interview with Diena. It's an unedited interview First Coast News did with her 4 days ago. To me it seems like it's the most clear-headed she has seemed, some of the shock has probably worn off and maybe she was medicated (or more medicated) at some point after Somer's disappearance.

I seriously doubt she is covering up for someone and I don't get the impression that she suspects somebody she knows. You can also hear her ask her attorney if a comment she made about DNA evidence was OK.

Why is he also in the Florida registry? Anyone know?

I see that when Pilar disappeared, he was the boyfriend and lived in Punta Gorda. That is where they are searching for Pilar.

Since you have spent some time I am curious as to why she repeats things that others say.
1. when she made a comment about a bad apple spoiling the bunch, that was somthing a newscast member already said in a video during the search.
2. She also commented on how somer hunged everyone and didn't know a stranger. This was also a comment said by someelse first.

There are others comments as well besides this which leads me to believe she watchs the news and repeats others and takes her cue from others. When you knew her did she display any of these habits
