Just wanted to add this before I tear myself away to go make dinner for the family - it's possible the construction materials and broken glass found with Somer was staged, in order to make it appear her murder had something to do with a construction site/ home renovation site, etc.

Before I tear myself away to hit that nice fluffy bed calling my name, I think it is very possible. I just don't see the killer having enough time to think that far in advance to "stage" something. Time was of the essence especially if he knew people would be looking for her by a certain time. I think it was a spur of the moment crime.

Construction dumpsters like the one at gano are rented...either by resident or const company..
im not sure the details on emptying, but those seem the rules for what is put in regular trash cans.. not construction dumpsters

After reading this, I am wondering, what would have happened if ST HAD INSISTED to the funeral person... would LE have stepped in to stop it... can they? It appeared to me that it was up to ST.. that he could have if he insisted on it. IDK what I would have done.. everything was up to DT at teh funeral home too... ST seemed to be an inconvenience to them and not the star as DT was. He was put to the side. Did not walk in when family entered, we were already seated. They would not give him copies of guest books or copy of cd used or anything but copies of cards on flowers and those must have been sensored as well because 4merneybor's card was not among them. I asked yesterday. ST told me that the Funeral home said they were obligated only to DT because she had signed all the papers and "paid" for it.
I think they were very surprised to see a father at all and did not expect him. The first day they let him sit in front row at other end of DT. The second day they were prepared beforehand to seperate them..
Im rambling,, and none of this will find somers killer.... sorry... back to topics at hand?

I will see if I can get a valued WS member over here that would know the answer to that & maybe she would be willing to answer that question. Also how he was treated & why? The funeral was donated, so....? Just wondering myself who pulled the strings that he was treated that way? Odd.

Somer was found around 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Was the trash she found in picked up on Tuesday or Wednesday? Does anyone know, and if so, can you provide a link?

If the garbage had to go to Rosemary Hill first, then it was probably Tuesday's?

I don't know if the perp would have had time to stage a crime (in response to staging the construction debris and glass). I think he figured a body in the landfill was unlikely to be found.

I'm not talking about construction dumpsters. You are right, these require a call to the company with whom you have a contract in order to have them emptied.

I'm talking about commercial (as in behind a business ... like a builder, for example).

My 3 ideas of perp:

1. A person visiting or a worker who was in the area and acted on impulse and didn't want to risk taking Somer elsewhere, but where did he kill her?

2. Someone who lives in the neighborhood and had been watching Somer and waiting to attack. Someone who did not think the body would be found. Killed Somer in his vehicle, the woods, or a home nearby.

3. A small group of really mean older kids. Maybe little gangster wannabe's.


If there was no sexual assault then I'll have at least one more suspect, but right now we don't know for sure, so I'm not naming anyone specifically.

Does anyone know how long WLK and DR were together... how long he lived in OP? Rememer the four girls who john walsh referred to? If WLK killed these girls, met DR, lived happily for X amount of yrs, she dies, he kills somer and disposes like he use to.... they didnt search the dump then. Couldnt he have thot it would still be that easy and couldnt he have used a house that they havent even checked and she could have just been easily accessible as well as the dumpster.. wish we knew where she came from.... I really think IMO she was in no hurry to get home.. that she didnt have to be there til mom got home... that she wanted her sibs to worry n get in trouble cause she was angry. I know these girls were never found.... was WLK around then?

What if it was one of the groups of kids Somer disappeared into? AT & ST saw her disappear into a group, and CS saw her disappear into a group at another cross street.

I only know that she bought the house in 1999. At least that is what I remember. And in the video at her obit site, he is in the pictures and her daughter is pretty young.

I think people just felt so horrible for DT that they just wanted to follow her wishes and I dont know what kind of person she painted ST to be... according to snoopyone... i dont think it would be nice....if he was even mentioned at all... til he arrived. But I also think PC would have been very angry for St to have had his spot... he could have pulled the strings and not DT at all... IDK

Yes you are correct (as pretty much always) the foreclosure property is Green Cove Springs...and no I don't think it's considered Somer's neighborhood.

One thing that always amazes me is how (not quoting any specific person in this case, just in general) people mention their children by name and how it frightens them because their little Suzie is home alone after school for about 20 minutes and they live right their on Horton too and it's just awful ... and I picture creeps taking notes.

If my kids had seen Somer, I would have brought them to LE so they could tell what they knew, and then requested their names be kept out of media. And mine too.

There is a child killer out there. If my kids saw something, even if they didn't realize what they saw, it might drive someone to kill again.

I know a lot about garbage, but not about Florida garbage, so I am guessing it's the same as here.

1. When you renovate and it's going to take a lot of garbage space, you rent a dumpster. You fill it up and the company that you rented it from hauls it away. They probably bring it to a construction dump place where they put the hazardous materials in a place, recycle what they can, and put in a landfill what is left. There is a huge fine where I live if yu dump hazardous waste such as asbestos or paint, etc.

I imagine it's much more true in Florida because you water is right by the surface.

2. If you are a home owner, you are not allowed to dump construction materials in your personal garbage. You are supposed to bring them to an authorized place, whether that is a construction dump place or a land fill.

3. At our landfill, there are always workers there that direct you to where to bring your trash. They do not accept household garbage-orange peels etc. Refrigerators, furniture, etc. Sounds like that is what they have in OP.

4. Garbage is big business and lucrative. Ours goes to another state to be used for fuel or something. I forget.

5. Construction dumpsters can only contain construction debris. No food, etc. That's why I think the Gano house had their own household garbage can, unless the workers took their McDonald's bags home with them.

6. The dumpster at Gano was not emptied.

7. Someone on this site said that she might have been rolled up in a carpet. That makes sense. It would have been covered with glass and other debris from the fire, as well as soot, if we are to believe ST's statement about soot.

8. She could have been put in a store dumpster, although where I live they are locked, I think. Or an apartment dumpster. I don't know that part. But she wasn't dumped from the Gano dumpster. Or any number of other dumpsters that are available in OP. I think LE is mentioning about a car because she was brought somewhere else in OP and dumped.

9. For sure the perp did not think that she would be found.

10. Carni workers that travel have lots of SO's. Maybe not registered, maybe they are. But when they come to my city, we all say, "Stay away. Don't go there!" In the past , they have been accused of doing improper things with teenagers.

11. Who did it? I don't know. Maybe teenagers who used the house for their activities and were aware of it. Maybe she was killed somewhere else and the carpet was used. Maybe they were familiar with the carpet in the dumpster. Or it was someone else familiar with the dumpster.
