I saw a post on another board, where the member was reporting on a live broadcast and coworkers of Jarred (didn't say from what business but maybe Beauty and the Beef) and one stated that he was kind of lonely, quiet, detached, but seemed nice. The other person said she was just shocked over the news.

Obviously, she is clueless as to his real persona. Which is understandable, really. I have many nephews whom I love dearly, but really don't know what their day to day lives ecompass.

crocus - You're so right! We know very little of JH and his life as a pedophile. I bet he is nice! Strange, aloof, recluse, distant, could lose his temper, but a nice guy. Children aren't attracted to mean, nasty, or violent people - they are attracted to gentleness, kindness, and if they get some goodies out of it, all is well. I think JH is a pro at grooming children and has learned to keep his secrets to himself. MOO
 
Crocus, you asked a page or two back how long JH lived alone at his parents' house. I thought he moved in with his sister after being kicked out of the Wells apartment, and later back with his parents (no link, so hallucination for now).

His mom and stepdad moved a couple of weeks before Somer went missing (estimated October 5). I don't know if JH moved with them and came back or stayed in Orange Park. Rod Buchanan was told by "somebody" that he was still living at the Gano house, and on 10/23 when he and his wife drove by, Jarred's car was in the driveway.

His address on court records is listed as the Callahan house, and he moved to Meridian, MS, about 2 1/2 weeks before his arrest, which was on February 11, so we estimated at January 24 as the day he moved to Mississippi.

This leaves his move from Orange Park being between 10/23 and 01/24.

For some reason, I thought he moved in December. I'll read through the sources in the timeline and see if I can come up with an estimated date that he moved from Orange Park to Callahan.

Maybe he was working on the house painting it and stuff getting it ready to sell.

Searching for info above and finding bits and pieces that people have brought up in the past few days, so I'm posting here ... no luck on the article I thought I'd read about "three men living there" and "moved out in December" ...

Jarred moves to Meridian, MS
Harrell was arrested Thursday in Meridian, Miss., where he moved about three weeks ago, and charged with 29 counts of possession of child *advertiser censored*. He was being held in Mississippi on $1 million bond and Lauderdale County Sheriff Billy Sollie said he did not yet have an attorney.

Jarred's dad is a prison guard in MS
Loretta Harrell answered a knock at her ranch-style home in the deep Mississippi woods six weeks ago to find two strangers standing outside. The men told Harrell they were FBI agents and asked to speak to her husband about his son, Jarred. Startled, Jarred’s stepmother shut and locked the door and called for her husband, a local prison guard.

FBI told Harold Harrell that Jarred fit a profile but didn't say of what
The FBI agents told Harrell that Jarred wasn’t cooperating with a criminal investigation in Florida, where he’d spent time with his birth mother and her newest husband. They said Jarred fit a profile, but didn’t say of what, and asked his father for a DNA sample.

Harrell let one of the men swab the inside of his cheeks and watched them walk out a short time later. They left behind plenty of questions.

Harrell got some answers last week in a frantic phone call from his daughter in Jacksonville. Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler had just announced that Jarred, 24, was arrested in Meridian, Miss., on child-*advertiser censored* charges. Beseler also identified the unemployed laborer as a man of interest in the Oct. 19 disappearance and slaying of 7-year-old Somer Thompson.

Police/crime tape
The home at 1152 Gano Ave. is roped off with police tape and authorities, including an FBI forensics team, are searching in the yard using rakes and shovels. They were also seen looking about the foundation of the house. They have also set up a table with brown paper bags to collect evidence. Dr. Fessel, watch the video. They have tape around the Stop sign and tied to what I think are FDLE trucks.

Description of Jarred (Lisa Buchanan)
A Middleburg woman (Lisa Buchanan) whose daughter was a one-time roommate of Harrell and who said she has known him and his family for years described him as a recluse who enjoyed playing computer games.

Jarred spent time alone at Gano house
Lisa Buchanan said Harrell spent at least some time alone in his mother’s home at 1152 Gano Ave. at the time of Somer’s disappearance.

(IMO she said this because they saw his car in driveway on 10/23, not that she had proof he was there on 10/19.)

DNA and other evidence from the landfill
It’s unclear when Harrell became a person of interest in Somer’s slaying. Police have said they recently have been receiving a steady stream of laboratory tests of DNA and other evidence collected from where her body was found in a Folkston landfill. Beseler declined to comment Thursday on what links investigators may have between Harrell and Somer.

Search of Gano house and houses in Callahan (FL) and Meridian (MS)
Clay County investigators and FBI agents continued their search Thursday night of the unoccupied Gano Avenue house. It’s unclear if the searches were still going on in Callahan and Mississippi, where deputies said Harrell moved a short time ago to live with relatives.

I wondered whether his stepbrothers stayed there rather than moving in October ... wait until Christmas vacation and start new school in January.
 
Did they bring cadaver dogs to the search of the JH Gano house ... or would it be too late for dogs to hit on anything?

Often, cadaver dogs have a hit months and months later - bringing cadaver dogs to the yard would be a good idea.

Thanks - so on February 11, all 3 houses and JH's car were searched, he was named a POI in the Somer case, and he was arrested. Was he named a POI because of something they found at the Gano house, or was it the child *advertiser censored* he produced that was found on the digital camera?

A few pages back, the point we were trying to make was that (according to the article) JH was arrested on child *advertiser censored* charges, and then his homes and car were searched and evidence found at his Gano house led to Beseler naming him a POI.

Authorities are searching two homes in Lauderdale County, Mississippi and in Calahan, Florida, respectively. A search conducted on Thursday morning at 1152 Gano Avenue in Orange Park, where Harrell formerly resided, has already yielded evidence which led authorities to name him as a person of interest in the case. Harrell is being held on a $1 million bond.

I would imagine J.H.was named a POI in Somer's case because they have something that links him to it? If it was the child *advertiser censored* and molestation charges alone, why would they mention him as a POI in Somer's case? There are quite a few other RSO's living in the nearby vicinity of Somer Thompson's home, so why wouldn't any of them be named as a POI in her case also?
That is my take on it anyway.
Otherwise i think he would have just been named on national T.V as a S.O, if nothing to do with Somer?

I think I have it Noway - I really thought the 3 houses were searched at the same time and he was named POI AFTER they found whatever? I thought it was the production of *advertiser censored* at the Gano house, but if it was something found at the Gano house, we can only wait for some explanation. Maybe a rug is at the basis of all this and I wish the media were clearer. MOO

I obviously look at his production of child *advertiser censored* different from you.

I would say because he has produced 'child *advertiser censored*' with the same age girls as Somer (around that age). Because he lives just feet from where the young girls walk to and from school each day. Because and because - guess I see POI different, it only signifies that they are looking at him with interest - not that he has murdered. MOO

Most of us only show our nice side when out in public, the ones we live with usually know us better and see more facets to our personalities. A lot of murderers are so called "nice people", and when they commit a crime then everyone is shocked! We never know what lurks beneath a persons outward demeanor as far as i am concerned. Every human being has those emotions, happiness, anger, depression,etc. But some take it to the very extreme, depending on what is going on with them in their life at the time, and if pushed to their limit, in some circumstances.
I can understand with sexually abused people that grow to adulthood, that there must be a lot of anger even to the point of rage within them, as to what they were forced to endure as a helpless child. Their innocence was violated to the very extreme. Why wouldn't they be full of anger, it is understandable.

I thought that child was only 3yrs. old? Somer was 7 wasn't she ? As far as i know the molestation charge was that with the 3 yr. old, the rest was child *advertiser censored* he had supposedly viewed???
 
CCSO emphasized that the charges of child *advertiser censored* had nothing to do with Somer Thompson.

So what they found to connect him to Somer was something else.

Of course, we're relying on the accuracy of the reporters. :) :shutup:
