I didn't mean to be a PITA, it was an honest question. I had heard about Diena picking up the oldest brother from OPAA, but not about telling the bf to pick up the younger boy. Or about him doing it on his own.

They still don't get it.... Caylee was never missing and the murderer is behind bars. I know we were talking one night about them doing this and sure enough ... they ride into town. I hope and pray they leave Somer's family alone and do not inject themselves. kwim?

Wishful thinking!! It will never happen. Anthonys will never leave Somer's family alone. They will tell them how to grieve and every other mistake to make because they have been through it all, of course.

Am I loosing it???? Why wouldn't they come out and say family and RSO are all cleared???

You would think with SO MANY RSO having to be interviewed, they sure cleared them fast, why not the family?? WOuldn't they look like morons if they said that RSO were clear and it ended up being one of them!

This has crossed my mind so many times. In any child abduction case, the first thing they do is clear the family. I have never ever heard officials say that the family was cleared. That family is always the first people they look at because in a majority of cases, children are killed by someone in their family.

I've asked myself over and over, why haven't we heard anything about the family, the boyfriend and this SP being cleared. We heard it in the case of Haleigh Cummings. At the same time, we have heard in previous cases where a parent/guardian/babysitter was a POI....Casey Anthony and Misty Cummings. These are almost always the first things we hear.

I have rationalized this over and over, thinking the only reason we haven't heard officials say the family has been cleared is because not a single person has asked, "Has the family been cleared of Somer's death?" I have not heard a single person in the media ask this question. Yet when I heard about this case, that was my first gut feeling, that Somer was killed by another kid. But then I thought that was just ridiculous. Then a few days later, we hear about a 15 year old killing a 9 year old. So just how ridiculous is it?

I think all we heard was older girl AT was sent out twice by SP to look again, and she was maybe still searching? Geez, just realized, that's crazy to let your 10 year old girl be out running around tho, if you think there's a predator.

Paraphrasing from the news conference the other day when LE spoke ..ok.

The public needed to just STOP COMPLETELY STOP ABOUT THE BLUE NISSAN...
They fully investigated this and it was LE, his wife, and child on their way home from a football game, when the bike nearly ran in front of them.
The litler girl was crying and could not find her house.. then she calmed down and said yes she knew where it was.. or something very close this ok. So... LE continued again telling everyone pretty much to drop the incident that the officer was doing his job.

I think that may be telling, LE was waiting for the burial to take place, and have had their man since the DNA results came back over the weekend, arrest tomorrow, just a thought....

I think so too. It was, I think Sunday night when they announced that that would be DT's last vigil. And it was kind of odd, because it reminded me more of when The Who retired a time or two. I think they only do the news conferences when they have something to say. I have a feeling that tomorrow they'll have plenty to say.

Yes, I agree, but before the "it was a ride offered home" story, Chief of police said that they should have put out a bulletin on it....why would he say that? There was a 911 call about it....I need to find it and listen again.....

About 75 people waited outside Jacksonville Memory Gardens cemetery for Somer Thompson's funeral procession to arrive, which it did around 12:30.

Just before 12:20, police started blocking off the streets around Wells and Blanding, and Kingsley and Blanding so that they could only be accessed by the funeral procession.

Near the cemetery, people lined both sides of Blanding, holding purple balloons to show their support. Workers at the cemetery stopped each vehicle entering the property to preserve the privacy of the Thompson family.

More than 1,000 people attended the hour-long ceremony in Orange Park.

Purple flowers adorned Somer Thompson's wooden casket and filled the floral displays around First Baptist Church of Orange Park. Her family wore purple ribbons on their clothing.

Somer's parents, Diena and Samuel Thompson, who are estranged, sat across the aisle from each other during the funeral.

The pastor said Somer loved to dance, play dress up, draw and color.

"She had a creative mind and was very imaginative," he said. "She loved people and she loved animals."

In an interview with the Associated Press outside an Orange Park restaurant, Samuel Thompson said he was devastated by his daughter's death.

"My little girl is in heaven now. She doesn't have to deal with this wicked world we live in," he said.

Thompson said he agrees that his daughter was a hugger.

"She could squeeze you and make you feel like there was no greater love in the world," he said.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office has investigated about 1,700 leads, but have not named any suspects or people of interest.

The hearse carrying the body of Somer Thompson, 7, passes by as balloons are released by mourners attending her funeral service, Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, in Orange Park, Fla. Somer Thompson was murdered last week.

Close to 1,300 people packed the First Baptist Church of Orange Park to pay their last respects to Somer. Her casket arrived draped with a large bouquet of purple flowers. Purple was her favorite color.

Her mother, Diena Thompson, wept through most of the service and kept her arm around Somer's twin brother, Sam. Somer's father, Sam Thompson, also sat up front. He and his wife are estranged.

As for the investigation, Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler warned the public the case could take a long time to solve. He said he believes Somer's slaying may be the work of someone who's done this before.

The sky above Kingsley Avenue filled with a cloud of purple balloons just after noon today at the end of a service to memorialize Somer Thompson.

Minutes before, her tearful mother, Diena Thompson, family members and friends left seats at the front of the worship center and followed her casket from inside First Baptist Church of Orange Park. There the 7-year-old was remembered at a packed hourlong service.

The Rockers Against Sexual Predators group already has 100 members and will have a 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 15 benefit concert at Orange Park Town Hall to raise money for the family.

Monday, Clay Sheriff Rick Beseler said investigators were continuing to work but were keeping a low profile until the services were over.

"As long as it takes we are going to find whoever did this," he said.
