According to the Hearing Worksheet that was filed on 12/18/2018 related to the motion to suppress the interview on 10/19/2017 with Detective Ghigliotty and Detective Wilhite and in it the State concedes the motion, motion granted and the interview is suppressed. I suppose we will see the actual motion order when the 12/27/2018 document is released.

Suspect in Pensacola P.I.'s murder on trial for racketeering, arson

Jan. 23, 2019

Eventually, Ashley Britt McArthur will stand trial over accusations she murdered local private investigator Taylor Wright and buried her remains near her family's property in Beulah.

But right now, the 41-year-old is focused on defending herself from another set of criminal charges: allegations she skimmed money from clients of her amusement equipment rental business and then set her own office on fire in an effort to conceal the crime.

McArthur's trial for charges of racketeering, organized fraud and arson began in Pensacola on Tuesday.

McArthur is the owner of Pensacola Automatic Amusement Inc., a company that provides jukeboxes, pool tables, arcade cabinets and other devices for use in bars and other businesses. Her clients included the Azalea Cocktail Lounge and Seville Quarter.

At trial, witnesses testified that PAA typically operates on an arrangement where the company splits the revenue from the rented machines 50-50 with clients.

However, McArthur allegedly violated the agreement by only handing over half of the cash proceeds. Payments made via debit cards, credit cards or smart phone apps, she kept for herself, prosecutors claim. According to charging documents, between July 2015 and June 2017, McArthur pocketed about $13,000 in profits that should have gone to the Azalea and approximately $333 that belonged to Seville.

The Azalea's management was supposed to meet McArthur to talk about the missing money on June 8, 2017, but McArthur cancelled the meeting when her business on 2414 N. Pace Blvd. caught fire.

Testifying to jurors Wednesday morning, a investigator for the State Fire Marshal's Office said there were two separate fires: one in a downstairs hallway and another in an open space on the second floor. An analyst who tested samples from the scene of the blaze reported finding traces of kerosene or diesel fuel.

The report revealed McArthur accomplished the scheme by falsifying collection reports for the two businesses and kept the unreported proceeds.

McArthur was found guilty of racketeering and organized fraud.

The State Attorney Office states, McArthur will be sentenced at another time and she was immediately taken into custody without a bond.

McArthur still faces charges for the murder of private investigator Taylor Wright.

Very happy to hear that she's in custody and has been found guilty of racketeering and fraud.

Is there any update on when the murder trial begins?

Does anyone know what that motion was for?

--

Are the trial dates set?
Basically, the defense is making a motion to keep the cell phone information out as evidence by alleging that the probable cause in the affidavits for records for both of Ashley's cell phones do not specify how the phones are related to the allegations stated in the probable cause.
