''It happened on November 12, 2009. Jefferson was found with multiple gunshot wounds in front of 501 N. 49th Street.
''Her family says she was making a quick trip to the store and jogging back to base, but she never made it home.''

''Jefferson had only been at Corry Station four months before her death. She just finished training and was preparing to be deployed.
"She was very proud to be serving her country," StMary said. "She was excited. She was going to be a lifer. She wanted to go to Japan."

Sketch released of man wanted in death of sailor shot dead while jogging in Pensacola

PENSACOLA, Fla. -- The Escambia County, Fla., Sheriff's Office has released a sketch of a man wanted in connection with the Nov. 12 killing of 18-year-old Tyler Jefferson, a female Navy seaman shot while jogging.

Because her murder occurred off base, it becomes a case in the jurisdiction of the Escambia County Sheriff or Pensacola Police.

The suspect sketch would appear that her killer was NOT military.

He was likely a local, and probably a repeat offender.
