She was driving a white 2003 Honda Odyssey with the Florida license plate number A43-1CR and peeling paint around the windshield. That evening, she told her daughter she was going to the store and would return in half an hour. She never returned and has never been heard from again.

At the time of her disappearance, Belaya was a science professor at East Florida State College. Her disappearance remains unsolved.

Bump she has been gone for almost 6 years. This is a hometown mystery for us. Any new info?

Bump for Katie. I am local and I have no idea where her car could have gone especially, that's the most perplexing part of this.

I find it weird there's no estimated time that she went missing, or at least when the daughter got home and realized she was? Just that it was at night?

She has been searched for by a few teams, Doug of (at the time) Adventures with Purpose is the only team that has posted where they searched.

Sunshine State Sonar plans to search for her.

Ok, some of the news articles are gone now but can be found on the wayback machine.
The interview doesn't load though, that seems to be gone.

Updated summary

On Sunday, September 28th, 2014, her older daughter Maria arrived home and was told by her younger sister that their mother had stepped out for 30 minutes to go to the store, approximately 6:45 p.m. When they tried getting a hold of her a couple hours later, her phone was off. She was last seen wearing a white long sleeve shirt and a blue/white floral designed long skirt.

According to her husband in a video by AWP, she had talked to a friend for around 40 minutes and her cell phone pinged around the Pineda Causeway. It's thought she could have been at either of two parks that she frequented, Rotary Park and Shore Side Park.
Her going missing is not common. Maria says her mother had been experiencing blackouts and bouts of confusion, but she usually came out of them. She could become very disoriented even in familiar places.

She is the mother of three children and a science professor at East Florida State College.

It was Sunday and it would have been dark out by the time she disappeared.

Anyone with information about Ms. Belaya is asked to call the Brevard County Sheriff's Office West Precinct General Crimes Unit at 321-617-7306 or CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477). All calls to CRIMELINE are confidential.
