This is such a sad story. This talented young man was set to start college in January as a highly recruited wide receiver at Ga Tech. He jumped in front of a freight train Monday 12/30/19.

Report: Georgia Tech signee Bryce Gowdy’s death ruled suicide

He, his mother and 2 younger brothers were living in a car for several months. He must have felt such pressure to succeed to pull his family out of poverty. His mother describes what happened leading up to his disappearance in a facebook live video. It's a very sad situation.

Bryce Gowdy's mother tells what led up to his suicide.

Devistating. I just wish someone could have reached out to this young man. Mom's raw honesty is heartbreaking.

I can't even imagine the pain and hopelessness he felt. I hope his mother can find some strength to keep her other children safe. RIP, Bryce.

“I said, ‘Bryce, you have to dig within and fight these demons that you’re fighting.’ I told him I wasn’t strong enough to help him right now, and I have my own demons that I was trying to fight,” Winelle said in the video.

She said she told Gowdy to “get it together," “toughen up,” and that he needed to “get his mind right.” According to Winelle, he could see that he was upsetting her and tried to hold her hand.

She eventually asked if he would fetch her favorite blanket from the car. Gowdy obliged, leaving his phone, wallet and shoes back in the hotel room.

He never came back.

Teen football star Bryce Gowdy faced struggles before his suicide, family says

I'm so sorry Bryce. So terribly sorry. :(

Such intense pressure he must have felt. :(
Where the heck is his father?
How in the world did Tech think he was going to make that transition?
RIP Bryce

I hope it's ok to relay this information. A donation site has raised $114,000 for Bryce's family. His mother states that housing, counseling etc are being arranged for her family.
