To be honest, I think the media have got it a bit wrong. I don't think Cecile did have the entire French nation fooled for months. Certainly not the moms of Clermont Ferrand. Some of the pictures just emerging of Berkane Makhlouf are months old. The French have strict privacy laws, so maybe that's why they were not released earlier. It's a pity, because witnesses might have remembered seeing him if they had seen pictures earlier.

Agreed! He went off the radar very quickly after the news of Fiona's disappearance. He seemed to have a very 'dark' and 'controlling' manner in interviews and in pictures.

That's pretty kind of French authorities compared to American law. Pregnancy has no bearing on custody of criminals here. She's very LUCKY they saw fit to wait until her baby came. Lucky and undeserving. A question, is the 2 yr old belong to her current bf who is accused of killing Fiona ? Is that perhaps why she thought the 2 yr old was safe with him ? tia

I haven't read anything concerning the whereabouts of E and the newborn. I've assumed they were in the care of Cecile's mother but who knows. JMO

I wondered where the other 2 children were as well.
Maybe Police have kept them out of the spotlight at the moment. If they were with Cecile at least their entire place was bugged and Police could keep an eye out on them in real time - though not the best scenario when the parents are under suspicion for the murder of a child
I do think though they would be somewhere safe.

She (Fiona) wore neck a gold plated chain with a round medal representing the zodiac sign of Sagittarius.

Radio RVA fb's page has a few comments underneath her picture, but nothing really after mid-May. Radio RVA do say in reply to a woman's question about police not putting out an abduction alert for 24hrs, that the prosecutor told them Fiona's case did not have all 'the elements' required to trigger an alert.

I'm wondering how early Police did suspect about this case and what the authorities thought - it might have been straight away after the very first search - possibly why they delayed an alert?
They may have needed to carry on with the alert and not change any usual protocol to see what Cecile's reaction would be (and her Lawyers reaction).

Investigators did not find the body of the little girl. Friday's search was suspended around 6:30pm.

Hopefully dad means news of Eva as in Eva will be coming to live with him permanently and immediately ! I hope and assume he means something like that.
What a mess ! And I feel very confident in saying the handful or so of us here at WS are far more attached to this baby Fiona than her mother.
