Sorry, do I know you? Oh, yes? Well, then, come closer. Here's a little secret about Paris: The true elite pass by hotels, and go straight for the secretive apartments of Hôtel Particulier Pourtales. Shhh…

Truly, if you didn't know what you were looking for, you wouldn't find Hôtel Particulier Pourtales, and that's the way they like it. A favorite of those that regularly grace magazine covers and red carpets, Hôtel Particulier Pourtales is a bit of a speakeasy. A big one actually.
Well, I guess this heist really blew their ambience. How they even entered the front door speaks to the inadequate security of this luxury, no longer secret playground of the rich and famous. I wonder if she will sue them?

Police trial expert and former undercover DEA agent Michael Levine said when he first heard of the reality star’s traumatic ordeal he initially thought the Kardashian robbery could be an elaborate hoax.

“It was one of the first possibilities that occurred to me. By now the French police might have a good idea of this," he said. "However, I'm certain they will say nothing. They have enough problems.”

Levine said Paris has more pressing law enforcement issues. “The amount of terrorism problems, threats and investigations ongoing in France right now likely has every man and woman with a badge working double-time, so if you wanted to run a hoax or publicity stunt, and I am not saying that is what they did, but France would be the place to do it,” Levine said.

An NYPD detective told FOX411 that while the robbery sounds legit to him, there may have been some embellishing around the edges.

“Most likely they knew she was staying there, and cased the spot but it’s more likely they are blowing the story up for publicity because she has a huge security detail," the detetive said. "She most likely has something new that’s going to happen.”

The new season of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” debuts on October 23.

Why does the story constantly change. First I read that they took 2 cellphones of hers and tied her up, now it's saying she called Kourtney and that's how everyone found out:

Harouche [her stylist] was "in her room sleeping" when she heard noises somewhere inside the private residence at Hôtel de Pourtalès and called Kardashian's longtime bodyguard Pascal Duvier.

"She did not know that anything had happened to Kim yet," the source adds. "[Kim's] phone call to Kourtney [Kardashian] was the one that triggered everyone rushing to Kim's side."

Here's what one sees when those red door open. I wonder where the cars spaces are that come with each apt, maybe a nearby garage.

TBH, I feel like even if it is a hoax, we'll never know. As stated above Paris law enforcement probably won't care enough to do anything about it and the Kardashians will never tell. Anybody who comes out to say they were involved in it being a hoax will be made too look like a hater, shamed out of existence. Hypothetically, obviously.

I'd hope if it's a hoax the French police wouldn't allow this lie to be spread. It makes them look incompetent, weak and hurts tourism.

Karl Lagerfeld on Kardashian Robbery: Don't Flash Jewels With 'No Security'

by Nancy Ing

PARIS — Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld on Friday questioned why Kim Kardashian West flaunted pictures of her expensive jewelry on social media while staying in a hotel with "no security."

Five suspects dressed as police officers gained access to the private mansion in Paris where Kardashian West was staying, before tying her up, robbing her at gunpoint and making off with an estimated $10 million in jewelry, a judicial source told NBC News.

Lagerfeld, who is creative director for Chanel, said he was surprised the reality-TV star had not stayed somewhere with better security...

Oh dear, so even their high faluting friends think Kim was reckless at best...

Ok. I believe it happened now. But inside job. Of course. She is a victim and I am sure she is terrified. We will see how she behaves now. Sorry but JMO but she set herself up for this.

I don't post where I am ever. It's a good rule of thumb. Although we all know this is her thing. I'm glad she is not hurt.

Stay home Kim.

I think it's far more likely they will sue her. I am amazed anyone is buying this publicity stunt.

RSBM & BBM

I wonder where this gentleman gets his information, assuming that his opinion is based on facts.

The investigation into the robbery is in hands of the French BRB, the The Brigade de Répression du Banditisme (Banditry Repression Brigade). They are special police units of the French Ministry of the Interior (Ministère de l'Intérieur). They are in charge of armed robberies, serious burglaries and scams, stolen cars and art thefts.

This BRB has nothing to do with terrorism.

If you want to run a hoax or a publicity stunt, France is most definitely the place NOT to be.
And despite the terror alert and the presence of the armed forces on railway stations and airports, you wil still get fined for speeding and parking.

The insinuation that France has no time to combat ordinary and not-so-ordinary crime is ludicrous.

Websleuths is victim friendly and TOS does not allow victim bashing.

Kim Kardashian is considered a victim in this matter and is NOT to be bashed on this forum. Please post accordingly.

(CNN) - With 84 million followers on Instagram and another 48 million on Twitter, Kim Kardashian West is one of social media's biggest stars.

But police say that visibility also led to her recent robbery in Paris.

The reality star was held at gunpoint after a group of men posed as police and robbed her early Monday at a private apartment.

Johanna Primevert, chief spokeswoman for the Paris police department, told CNN that Kardashian's celeb status -- as well as her millions of social media followers -- made her easy pickings for thieves...

This article talks about how the thieves got away. Earlier today I used Google to look at street views to kind of explore the neighborhood within and surrounding the secret hotel. Among other things I was looking for was a parking garage. The impression I got from what I could see and read was that the whole giant block is like a rabbit warren. This article confirms that for me.

HOW KIM ROBBERS GOT AWAY Thieves who held star captive were caught by shop’s CCTV in a mirror before creeping past sleeping guard and escaping on push bikes
Snaps of gang caught in 'million-to-one' scenario on a CCTV camera facing a mirror, which somehow reflected getaway

“PARIS cops have seized CCTV showing the faces of the armed gang that robbed Kim Kardashian, it can be revealed.

Images of the gang, who made off with $10million-worth of the star’s jewellery, were caught in a “million-to-one” scenario on a single CCTV camera facing a mirror which reflected their getaway, The Sun can reveal.”

Map and lots of pictures.

Thanks. There are many photos, but I'm not seeing any that show the perps on security video so I'm guessing the Paris LE hasn't released them yet.

Well, just keep in mind that The Sun has a kind of "iffy" reputation. But, it is MSM.

So if this robbery was genuine we should expect to see some of these images and communications surface .. unless someone managed to remotely lock the phone or the robbers are above such shenanigans.

Only one phone is said to have been taken and that was wiped clean via remote.

Link below and more info in article.

http://www.tmz.com/2016/10/04/kim-kardashian-surveillance-video-cellphone-robbery/

"TMZ has learned only 1 cell phone was stolen from Kim's apartment, not 2 as widely reported. We're told the phone in question did not have "compromising information" and was remotely wiped."

Her own security team, or members of, may be the ones behind this of course .. the whole thing is just way too coincidental.

10/4/2016

"The Kim Kardashian robbery will not be solved by fingering the culprits on video ... because a search for surveillance footage has come up dry.

Sources connected to the case tell us ... there was no surveillance video inside or outside the hotel premises.

The only video available is police surveillance footage. Problem is, we're told the camera doesn't face the front of the building and the robbers evaded the lens."
