That article seems to be hinting that Sebastien is the one alive and maybe responsible for killing his parents and sister. MOO

'Like time froze' at bloody house of missing French family
March 1, 2017

...For six years, investigators in the city of Nantes have been haunted by the deaths of another local family -- and have been searching for the father suspected of killing his wife and four children.

...According to the local newspaper, Ouest France, the family's electronic devices were missing, but the person who took them left behind their charging cords. This was also the case in the killings blamed on Xavier Dupont de Lignonnes, whose wife and four children were found buried beneath their porch in 2011, less than 4 kilometres from the Troadec home. The oldest of those children was a student at the same school as Sebastien, Ouest France said.

De Lignonnes has never been found. French national television aired a documentary about the case in January, in which his best friend speculates that he started a new life abroad.

Here's a contemporary report on the Lignonnes case: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...-murdering-family-could-be-in-monastery.htmlo

And a detailed account on wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dupont_de_Ligonnès_murders_and_disappearance

Although thes sons in these cases went to teh same school, this article (in Franch) says they aren't believed to have known one another, so the link is a bit tenuous IMO: http://www.presseocean.fr/actualite...gentil-et-tres-bien-integre-27-02-2017-220610

Long article (also in FRench) on the Troadec article: http://www.ladepeche.fr/article/201...s-similitudes-avec-l-affaire-de-ligonnes.html

Sebastien is definitely the main suspect at this point, but they say they haven't ruled anything out: http://www.ladepeche.fr/article/201...a-orvault-le-fils-soupconne-et-recherche.html

Didn't the first article say they found blood on Sebastien's cell phone? But then say all the electronic devices were taken...? It is so odd about toothbrush and hairbrushes missing, but blood left behind. Strange case...

This handout photo provided by the French Police Nationale sent to French police authorities on Feb. 24, 2017, shows portraits of the missing Troadec family. From left, father Pascal Troadec, mother Brigitte Troadec, son Sebastien Troadec, and daughter Charlotte Troadec. (Police Nationale via AP)
Sebastien's phone, like the other phones of the family, has gone unused since Feb. 17. The beds were stripped and there were no toothbrushes in the bathrooms. Dishes cluttered the sink; a load of wet laundry filled the washing machine.

According to Ouest France, the family's electronic devices were missing, but the person who took them left behind their charging cords

It is not clear to me why Sebastien is seen as the main suspect here?

It is not clear to me why Sebastien is seen as the main suspect here?

Possibly because of this, although it still does not prove anything at this point, imo..

A nationwide police bulletin on the family said initial suspicion had fallen on the couple's 21-year-old son, "suspected of having a deadly plan to kill the members of his family and perhaps himself".

Sebastien Troadec's Peugeot is the only car missing, and his bloody mobile phone was found in the house.

...A Peugot belonging to Sebastien Troadec, 21, was discovered in the coastal town of Saint Nazaire. The car was found sitting in a church parking lot near the navy shipyards. Le Monde newspaper reported that bits of blood were found inside the vehicle. A source inside the investigation told the daily that the car appeared to have been "cleaned inside and out" and that the carpeting had been torn out of the trunk.

Now that is an unexpected twist in this case! imo.
rbbm.

The brother and sister-in-law of a missing Frenchman have been taken into police custody. Pascal Troadec and his family vanished under mysterious circumstances in February and have yet to be found

Maybe some good news too?
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-39172121
There is still the possibility that some of them are alive, officials say.
An inquiry into murder, abduction and illegal confinement is under way.

I wonder if we'll still see another arrest

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-39177217

Pascal Troadec's former brother-in-law, named as Hubert C, reportedly told investigators he had killed them in a row about the inheritance of gold bars.

He is believed to have battered them to death with a blunt object at their home in Nantes...

His DNA is said to have been found at their home...

RTL reported that it is not yet known whether Hubert C has told police where he left their bodies...

The role of Lydie Troadec - Hubert C's ex-wife and Pascal's sister - was not yet clear, reports said.

So cold, so sleazy! imo.
The finger had initially been pointed at Sebastien in the the murder, abduction and illegal confinement case having been convicted of making death threats in a blog back in 2013.
But in the latest revelation, it has emerged Mr Troadec had inherited gold coins and ingots, according to La Parisien.
They are said to have been handed down to him by his late father, who died six years ago, and he cashed in the family treasure to upgrade his older cars for an Audi A4 and a BMW.
The 46-year-old brother-in-law, identified as Hubert C, is understood to have felt his 47-year-old wife had been wronged by not getting a fair share of the gold.
He is said to have slaughtered the Troadec family in their detached home in Nantes, western France, during a row overt the ingots and coins.
