She was a frail 83-year-old lady on a breathing machine. They didn't have to kill her. They could've robbed her and she would've been helpless to stop them. Beating her and setting her on fire was just for fun. It's hard to even comprehend that kind of evil.

RIP Mrs. Dow. No more pain or fear. I pray you are reunited with loved ones who have passed before you.

This must be so very painful for Mrs. Dow's family. Knowing this is how her life ended. I hope and pray justice will be swift and severe!

A young woman accused of robbing, beating and burning a Meriwether County grandmother who later died has been caught taking pictures while behind bars and then posting them to social media.

Accused killer Mina Ellery and three others are jailed and are charged with the killing of 83 year-old Dorothy Dow in August. Meriweather County Sheriff Chuck Smith says the suspects forced their way into Dow's home, beat her, poured gasoline on her and then lit her on fire.

I have not been able to find any updates on this case since August, 2016, other than the story posted above. I also have not been able to access any court records on the suspects.

I'm hoping that someone here with better research skills can keep us informed.

RIP Mrs Dow. Me and my OH are so upset by this story and wish her family our very best wishes. I have never read of such a terrible crime and hope that the perps feel the full force of the law.
I wouldn't call them animals, animals don't behave like that. Despicable , all of them

I did a case search for Cortavious Heard, one of the suspects.

Meriwether County Court records show no proceedings later than 9/6/2016. He's been charged with malice murder and felony murder.

Three suspects have pleaded guilty to murder in the case, and another is set to be tried. Two of the three have not yet been sentenced to my knowledge, and the third, Mina Christine Ellery, has been sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 30 years.
